My E has a 2056 hopped up Jake Raby / Harry Pellow 120hp engine

Built up IV engines run faster and are better balanced cars then their 911 equivalents. My 76 E is faster and easier to drive than a stock 76 911.

Kermit would be the last car in my garage I sell, if I had to thin the herd.

My first 912E DRIVE

Hi,back to 1976.I was a shop foreman for Herman & Miller Porsche -Audi.They had bought a new 934 Turbo, white # 36 for the IMSA series.I was crew chief for the car.We had a race at Road Atlanta and they gave me a 912E sepia brown demo to drive down.I asked for the 76 Turbo demo but they said my driving record only allowed the 912.Anyway it was a great drive.I took the Appalachian Trail through Va.to Georgia.Mileage was above 30 mpg and very neutral to drive. At that time my Porsche was a 914-6 with 2.4S engine.Hence my less than stellar driving record.Fred Apgar

Christian, just because I often have "wood" doesn't mean that I have a wooden steering wheel in my rear booster! Now if I had a classic pedal-car (aka - a 912) that bisch would be rockin' a wooden wheel for sure!

PS - that pic's not of my car's dash (just something I lifted from google) - I have a suede Momo Mod 07 . . . fookin' excellent steering wheel right thar, and far better looking than anything stock (especially the ghastly original wheel from 1987 - farkin' bread truck lookin' piece of shart that is)!

Christian, that dude got an important detail wrong; said the 912E had a VW engine, but it actually has one of these, right?!?!?!

I know Ronnie posted this 7 months ago but I just read it. I was laughing so hard I had to quote it just for the photo. Freakin' classic. Ronnie, once again thanks for the laugh you freakin' hoser, as your posts have become essential during these winter doldrums as I now live in the Great White North.

Hey Fred, awesome story. I bet you have a million. What's the story on that Wachs-Porsche special. I saw that thing on Bring-A-Trailer, and I read somewhere you owned it at one time. It looks like it's a pretty sweet car.

Ha ha Your Countlyness, glad you get a kick out of the jackassery - hard to believe that some find such silliness offensive, BUTT each to their own, buttofcourse!

Christian is a great inspiration for humor (in a good way :)) - he's always game for it, never takes offense, and slings in kind - fun stuff! :D

What was it with the 923 tranny, Matt. Is it the same as in the 73 RS? I forgot.

Been there myself. One of my small children is now 28 and has a 944S and an 88 911!
Porsches come and go. Family is forever.

Amen!

Thought he wanted to sell the 944 after he got the 911?

NYNick 02-26-2016 04:33 AM

He does. It's in the classifieds. Takes a special buyer who is 944 informed to want one of those. Car is in great shape. It'll sell. They all do sooner or later.

The gear ratios are basically the same.

Update on E prices.

Sold Bee for 27.900 Euros. Technically probably the best one on the market. Totally spotless body. But the original paint has seen better days.

I think the buyer got a good deal, but I need some time Porscheless after 22 years.

Bee will move to Rome now and live with a really nice family.

Ronnie, told you to keep it a secret that I am Badman🙄

Guess that means you'll disappear from these here parts (more than you already have lately)? Too bad if so, bro!

Christian - I went 18 years as I was into old Land Rovers and then family (still am). The next time when you buy another it'll be sweeter but different, as tastes change and so do you, but the hobby is always here.

Ronnie's.930 03-18-2016 09:35 AM

Christian, I forgot how you go through cars kinda' like Matt M does (here today gone tomorrow)! :)

And whenever you want to get a Porsche fix, you're welcome to head over to Norf TexASS and take a whirl in the rear-booster. Just let me know in advance so I can bring a diaper and plastic seat cover for you, as you'll be shattin' yerself repeatedly, bub!!! :D

Thanks man - I might take you up on that.

No problemo. I will just wear the good old latex suit - it is quite practical.

Funny thing is that people would not even make notice of us driving the booster together all dressed up - they would just go "oh, Ronny got himself a new gimp after the other one ran away. Good for him!"
