I paid $200 each for 951 8x16s a couple of years ago. The black was very faded and scratched.

These use to be the hot tip for bigger up front brakes on turbos, demand is down because most are going back stock because of collector value.

Find the right buyer, maybe $400 each for the 8's if in great shape, yours need refinishing. The 7's no demand at all.

+1. 951 8s are used on the front of SC/Carreras.

I think Fuchs prices have risen a bit - perhaps $500 each for the 8s, $250 each for the 7s. The latter is just a guess, because I have not seen many 951 7s change hands publicly.

Erik. I asked a question about current valuation on a set of wheels and most answer with true opinions of value. You appear VERY knowledgable on a lot of items and then occaisionaly u answer a question like mine with a story of a flea market purchase that was NEVER market value but good deal nonetheless. I asked for value and got a story or scenario but certainly not current value with is not only what I asked for but also the name of the forum heading. As always I appreciate your input and helpfulness. I'll use your story of the buy u made a cpl years ago to be the low point on the scale of range of valuation which is just as important as the current mart value that tech weenie offered as a high. See, I do like your answer every time u offer and your opinion of values rock!! Thanks for helping a brother out.

So let's go through this a little. 1. ) Please review who you're addressing. I assume you mean me, even though you are spelling my name incorrectly. 2.) I purchased my wheels from a fellow Pelican in the Parts Marketplace. They were fairly priced then, and I don't think parts values have gone up too much in the past two years, except for longhood parts. Certainly not nearly as much as car values have increased. In any case, these are not flea market wheels at flea market prices. 3.) Look at the prices folks are talking here. $4-500 for wheels in excellent shape. The wheels pictured are decidedly NOT excellent. In fact, they require refinishing. Freshly refinished wheels might get you all of $550 per 16x8 951 wheel. Now, would you like to guess how much refinishing costs, per wheel? It ain't cheap. I encourage you to put your wheels up for more than $200 per. In fact, I hope you can get $350 or so per. That makes my wheels worth more than that, considering their condition. If I were buying, right now, I wouldn't pay more than about $300 each, shipped. In fact, if the staining on the anodized part is actual staining, I wouldn't buy them at all. The job to get them refinished and reanodized would make waiting for more suitable wheels a better choice. 16x8 951 wheels are rare, but they aren't unicorn rare, so unless I had to have a set right now, I'd pass on these.

Pics are a bit dark, but wheels look like they could be in nice shape.

Just be very very careful in cleaning the wheels... Anodized finish is extremely tough and durable surface, however detergents can do severe harm to them.

Older, non-refurbished, even scruffy, faded, original Fuchs -wheels get my heart thumping. It is just great to see they have travelled the road for 30-40 years, and still are as strong as new.

Why not just put them on ebay and see what they sell for? That would be the value for that day. Can not get any more current value than that.

^^^this is really the best advice.

The value of the wheels will quickly become apparent on eBay.
