First let me say I understand the challenges of selling in Canada. I have been marketing Porsches here for 34 years, it's a hobby business. I am a licensed dealer specializing in air-cooled cars.
As a reference to the car being advertised for which the OP has asked for opinions, two weeks ago a 77S coupe, silver over black with 65,000 original miles was offered for $19,000, in really good shape but a little tired. May not be the norm but a reference point. Early mid-year cars are a bit more difficult to sell, mostly due to various factors, many of which have been identified in this thread. Last911 you have a nice car, you will find your buyer it's just going to take a bit longer. By the time you read this you may have gotten a good offer from a US buyer. It's not as difficult as some believe transferring ownership from Canada to a US purchaser. All the best, Mike |

I think the Canadian thing is purely mental. Guys think nothing of shipping a car from LA to NY or CT. But ship one across the border from Toronto or Montreal? OMG! Customs! ACk!

Oh yeah. I would totally agree on an SC. I recently was questioned in response to a comment about not liking SCs. I don't like how hard it has become to pass smog with one. They are actually great cars but big brother has made owning one a pain.

The Broker can even handle filling them out, all they have to do is pay the broker (don't even have to talk to them). It's like Aziz (Comedian) says, "I can hit the road and tour for 2 weeks straight, but the thought of filling out one form scares the crap out of me!" ![]() |

$25K US $ for a 3.0 in that car is a good deal. We wouldn't be having this conversation if it was a coupe.
HOT ROD! SLEEPER! OUTLAW! Um no, it's a Canadian Targa.

Being a Targa and unoriginal parts/tail/flairs etc... is the problem. Also if you are asking top dollar for a 75 Targa at least detail the vehicle for the photos. GLWS

Lol
Drive it until the snow, flies, pull it out at the first thaw and drive it more. When you are ready to move on from it, check the market and price accordingly.

Hooyah!!
![]() The price is going up and there's no point in selling for less than 30K. One day it will be a 30K car, and in the meantime, I get to drive/enjoy. The plan was to sell and buy a 964, but lucky me, I just picked up a low mileage 964 so I am a HAPPY man! |

You made a similar thread Richgas.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-marketplace-discussion/872820-need-value-check-experts-84-carrera.html It's not easy selling, just asking for advice just like you were. Did you wind up selling your car? I'm keeping mine. |
