Don't take this the wrong way...my point is the attention is not positive at all. I enjoy talking to people who like the car and what to know about it. But when some knucklehead leans out of a moving car to yell "how much, how much will you sell it for it, come on, come on"...or someone anxiously tracks you down in a restaurant to interrupt your meal...I'd say it crossed the line from being a compliment to being a nuisance. So Cal's finest from the looks of things.

I find this part annoying as well. At some point during the market run-up it stopped being about sharing enthusiasm for the cars and started being about every shade tree tire kicker hoping you don't know the values have exploded yet.

Had it happen three times last year.

At the time, it seemed like all three people who approached me were not aware of current values. Looking back, maybe they were fully aware and were just playing dumb, looking for a deal.

Got offered a 68 Camaro resto mod trade for my 83 SC this weekend. Five years ago it would have been a no brainer. Not so much now (yes, I said SC, and yes, it is quite nice thank you).

Also, I was able to acquire my gt3rs this way. I was admiring it and owner walked out of store. I asked if he's selling and 2 days later it was in my garage.....just in the nik of time. LOL. Never hurts to ask. Just don't be a turd about it.

Many of the ones in these recent pics came from a 50 car deal I did over the summer. But the yard is every changing, picked up this one today in PA. So to answer your question most have not been out there for long and will probably find new homes before the snow hits next winter.

Yah it happens all the time. last thread I posted in about this I was at around 30 people but now more like 50..no exaggeration. I always tell em the same thing while not stopping what Im doing meanwhile. Most of the idiots pull up and yell something from the middle of the street. "Hey the Porsche guy" Any for sale? I always say the same Fvking thing. Not right now but when I do it aint gonna happen in the middle of the street and the cars will be marketed through proper channels. Then they wanna know what that means. Then they ask what years are they and how many miles. I have a 78, 80, and 88 . So some clown last Saturday says ..hey if you dont wanna give me a deal well ok. I said dude there are no deals with air cooled porsches right now. Then he offers me 15 grand for the Targa. Ive already turned down 3 or 4 cash offers of 25 grand for the car. My cars are very well sorted, all the way through. So I yelled back to the guy...dude there are no cars like this for 15 grand and he goes "oh yah there out there". I said God bless ya and good luck to ya. And next time you come by bring a bunch of 100 dollar bills and Ill give ya 50 each for them

Pretty sure this one sold while still on the trailer, the best ones go fast. We keep the better ones inside.

Bumping this because I finally had a creep with friend scoping the neighborhood for cars.

I was pulling the Mustang out to dust it off because my son wanted me to pick him up from Starbucks in it. He likes the Mustang better than the Porsche. He's 12. The Porsche was in the garage and blocked by my wife's Jeep in the driveway. I'm backing out and this guy in a Truck stops, backs up and starts waving his hand. I think I'm going to run over something. I get out and can't hear what hes saying over the car, so I walk down to the street. Guy asks if the Porsche is for sale. I laugh and say no. I start walking away and he says, "It's a 930 right?" This bothered me. For some reason shook my head and said, "No I'm not that lucky. It's a replica." He actually believed me, looked deflated and drove off.

The part that makes me nervous is I don't know how he saw the car. Plus they stopped four houses down and knocked on the door of one of my Neighbors because he has a 2010 Shelby Mustang GT 500 in the driveway. It won't fit in his garage right now because he is in the middle of a remodel. He's was still at work so I stood and watched them.

I see now why this bothers everyone. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. But I feel like I was followed today and wasn't paying attention. This is a really bad way to try and buy cars.
