Is it worth more than the sum of its parts

I am looking at a 1977 911 targa with a renegade conversion. Rust free straight body, interior all there and in decent shape except one door panel is missing , 915 trans has turbo clutch and pressure plate, aluminum head 350 SBC with a carburetor, runs good, sounds great. fairly neat conversion nothing cut up only modification from stock I could see was gas tank. Needs paint, its a faded silver. Targa top is rough. Fuchs type wheels with ok tires. I am wondering what a 1977 targa is worth without an engine. If I can get it for a price in that vicinity, I could drive it for a while and not worry about getting in too deep. Is 10k too much to pay? Does a renegade conversion demand a premium?

What did it do for radiator and access to it. How do the coolest lines run.
Last one I saw vented behind the wheels ans got ain't to radiator below bumper.
Still ran too hot.

$10K is a great buy for a 77 911 with a 350 that runs good. It's worth more probably 2x that. Ballpark $8k-12k as a roller with many variables. Need many detailed pics of this car and conversion details. Rust?

Let's see.... as a check book mechanic here is a back of the envelope analysis.....

Motor: 2.7 CIS: $5000 - $7500
Installation: $1,500 (including removal of SBC)
Paint: $10,000

Purchase: $10,000

Total: $29,000.

No, $10,000 would be a reasonable purchase price especially considering the ability to sell the SBC at some point.

An SBC installation will almost always include a big honking radiator up front.
Add another $2.5K or so to patch up all the holes cut for the cooling system!

+1
Modifications made for the radiator will not be easy to repair.
