Gooding or Russo and Steele
I am thinking about sending the 930 to Monterrey for one of the auctions. Whisc company would be a better venue to sell the car....Gooding or Russo and Steele?

Never bought or sold through either one, but I've been to R&S and followed the Gooding results. All else being equal I'd go with Gooding, but:
-Gooding may not accept it. They are definitely more up-market and most of their cars are going for north of $500k. -If they do accept it, it will probably be a no-reserve auction. They don't appear to accept reserves for any cars with an expected price below $300k, from what I've seen. Not sure what the seller cost is for these two. Your best option is to contact both and figure out costs, then check recent auction results to see what these guys have done with similar cars. Historically, Gooding has done an excellent job of setting the price range for their cars. I would say they were a bit optimistic at the last Monterey auction, so expect more "realistic" expectation setting for this year's event.

How long in advance do they close, just out of curiosity

R&S is still taking consignments. I have been talking with R&S for 2 months and had another discussion with them (they called me) this past Friday. Maybe the submissions have closed and they may be working on what hey already received. If I go reserve, the entry fee goes up $200 (from $450 to $650) on y 1 and $200 every 2 weeks until they get 250 cars slated to be auction. Now may NOT be not the time due to Brexit and the pound and EU getting hammered. I drove the car again Sunday and still love it. Hard decision.
