Opinions on this car...
Its been on and off the market for 10 months which is a bit concerning. Additionally, according to the carfax its only gone 600 miles or so over the last few years, since its transformation. Looking at the car there are some pretty in your face signs that its done more miles since the transformation, meaning the odo was not working, which is pretty common. I am not looking for a track car. That means I need to rework the entire interior. Not concerned about no AC but I need heat. Looks like a lot of car for $45k

it's a great car for the money, appearance is a little strong for my liking. The interior doesn't need
much a carpet kit and some new seats? It's strong DE car might be a bit much for the street, then again it's not a daily.

Agreed. Ton of car for the money. That engine is a pretty penny alone.

Why hasn't it sold though? I get the looks might not be for everyone, but for a track car who cares?

I just looked through the pics in greater detail and this car is a stunner. If the cosmetics aren't your thing throw a bit of paint at it. Not a big investment. Cost of the engine is close to the asking price of the car!

My guess on why it hasn't sold is it looks like he did a wonderful build with both track and street use in mind, except he went more towards track when it came to cosmetics. The stripped interior and bare paint job does not appeal to the boy racer who will pay good money for a car like this. A guy like that wants a fairly complete interior but with some very racing GT looking seats and a nice paint job.
I'm not bashing the car, I think it looks great but $45,000 is a lot of money for a car, even a well built 911 and it's a bit too naked of a build to appeal to a lot of the potential buyers of a car like this. Most want the look, not the actual car. ---Adam

I just keep looking at the cost of the motor, suspension parts, wheels and brakes and I keep seeing a lot more than the asking price of the car. Don't like the color? You can wrap the car another color dirt cheap.

Car is cool and a lot of it or the money.
Only problem is it's a track only car due to emissions in a few states including mine. I envy the rest of you!

@pmax.... it has a set of heater boxes on those headers. They're just not hooked up to anything.

Very nice car!! But really cannot take your girl to the movies or out for a Sunday drive. I think most people who want a 911 would like to do that.

Looks like it idles at 1200 rpm, so not very quiet at a red light either. As others have said though, looks cheap for the amount of work that went into it.

Maybe a cold idle. Might go check it out tomorrow. However too track oriented for me. I'm looking for something a little softer to drive often in the summer.

The 11.5:1 compression ratio would be a concern for a street car not running high octane race fuel - that is on the outer limits, even with twin plugging, for air cooled cylinder heads. Guess it would be safe enough if ignition timing is able to be pulled back at higher RPMs (I didn't read about what it has for ignition or engine management), but even with the ability to do that, cylinder head temps will be higher, and likely lead to less life out of the valve guides. Something for a potential buyer to consider, I suppose . . .

It's kind of like when all the Harley guys go out and buy the hard tail custom and then a year later get a soft tail, because as cool as a hard tail is with the big loud pipes, it isn't much fun to cruise around in with every bump hitting you in the kidneys. I think these hardcore track cars are the same thing, real cool to think about, easy to get carried away when you're building it, but probably not much fun to actually take to cars and coffee. Personally I've only been buying cars with back seats, I have two little kids and I can only fit one in the Roadster and if you can't take the whole family to get ice cream, you don't get to drive it as much.
Also, anyone who has ever built a dedicated track car knows you don't get anywhere near as much when you sell it as what you put in, just check the race car section of ebay, guys shed thousands when they sell, so saying this guy's asking price is worth it for the motor, only appeals to someone who wants to send $45,000 for a motor. ---Adam

High compression should only an issue with small cams. If the "big" cams have a lot of overlap most of the compression will bleed off. It's still not a commuter car.

You guys are all correct... its really too track oriented. I just keep seeing a car that cries out for some work to make it a whole lot more streetable and a hell of a fun dual purpose car just needs to lean more towards the street than it does now.
I do wonder how streetable the motor is on 93 octane pump gas. The headers have heater boxes, they're just not hooked up to anything. Back dating the heat so no blowers is not all that hard but its going to take some more parts. Its also going to need a bit more mellow exhaust / muffler Rain hats for the Webers Return the Webers Strip the current interior including removing some of sections of the roll bar, rendering it fairly useless. Dynomat the inerior. Build a rear seat delete box. Trim and Carpet Seats Replace the rear quarter windows with glass Maybe redo the headliner Remove as much of the striping and graphics as possible Strip the wheels or replace them ( I have a set of Lindsey 17's and another on the way) Yes its a lot of work and parts and time but in the end it might be a heck of a hot rod. Surely if it was more steeetable it would have a much broad appeal in the market.
