914 v8
I see one listed on Ebay with buy it now of $27k. I think this is a little rich, but all cars have trade offs. I think mine has a better drivetrain with its built 327 that has about 325hp and purposefully soft bottom end torque. It has the typical locked out 901 but with the taller gears from Renegade that really turns it into a highway machine. Recaros inside a mostly stock interior with Tach converted to V8. Its a nice pro built V8 by Renegade but has a FG wide body kit with Boxster wheels and 5 lug 911 brakes. It rides well and loves to drift a corner with mid engine configuration and isn't a fresh troublesome build, yet has many thousands of proven miles on the street. I do think it would over heat on a race track.
It is not a jack rabbit like you'd think with a V8, but rather a long puller that can hit serious speeds in 2nd (orig 3rd gear). The paint is an 8. Its a fun car that draws eyeballs at cruise-ins but not a true show car. Exhaust is noticeable but adult with headers into turbos and no interior drone or obnoxious sounds. I say above comments with stabile mates of 427 Mustangs to a 72' 911 to a mod'd GT2. I'm looking at another GT2 so may look to thin heard. I'll have to get pics up......I know almost worthless without but its in winter storage and I can't find a good pic on this computer and Hubgarage was taken down where I had car pics stored. Do you think there would be any interest in current market? Great tub, just not OEM sheetmetal exterior any longer. Cool look, just a little less vintage. Black on black. If I keep longer ( had about 4 years) I'd think about original 914 seats to reduce bolsters. Thoughts?

I think people are always interested in something like this but when it comes down to shelling out $$ for it the story changes. 327 doesn't help. I'm sure it is a good motor but these days LS motors are what people want in a swap. 901 gearbox also not up to the job of the higher TQ. Have a customer who has an LS1 914 and is a driving instructor who keeps stripping teeth off of gears without abuse, he is upgrading to a Boxster transmission now as we already built him a "renegade" box with cryoed (sp?) gears etc. trying to make it stronger, broke 3rd gear again.
Really all comes down to how much you are asking for it - price it well and it should sell but it is a unique car so even at the right price it may take a while. Good luck. J
