Garage
My guess is $5-6K. I have heard of five-figure asking prices, but not sure if anyone has gotten that much.

Smoking the good stuff

Wow,thanks for the input.I was thinking 1500-2500 for a perfect dash.I thought about it today.I bought 1 dash 1st and it was a repro & the fit was terrible.I do not remember who made it.Then I bought 2 from Porsche and installed both and the fit was as it should be.So because it was checked 1st in theory it is not NOS.Oh well. Thanks Techweenie for your help.Ciao Fred

I think that's optimistic for a '76 dash. One year only part on a middie that not a lot of people are putting huge $$ into restoring (yet). I bought an excellent used (but near-perfect one) in July for $1500 and another NOS still in the box a month later for $2000. There was an NOS for sale at the Lit Show a few weeks ago at an asking price of $3000 that I don't think sold.

$5-6 k sounds high to me as well but plenty of 76 930's being restored plus you have the 2.7 MFI Carrera's- those folks would pony up a decent sum if they needed a new dash.

I thought all early turbos had leather covered dashes.

The dash would be need to recovered in leather to be correct for a 930 or any other 76 that had a leather dash. As far as I know the leather dashes were recovered vinyl ones. I don't believe you could buy a leather covered dash a replacement.

You could order a non-leather dash in a 930 as an option, I had a 79 built that way. Don't know if this was an option in 76.

That makes perfect sense since I think you could order just about anything from Porsche if you were willing to pay for it.
