993 TT market status?

I had a guy in my office, he sees a 911 slot car stuck to my file cabinet, and asks if I'm a Porsche guy. "Yes" I reply, "kind of a sickness really".
He tells me he has an older 911 (doesn't say what), so I tell him not to sell whatever he has without calling me first.
Fast Forward, he actually calls and invites me to come see it, maybe selling.
Drive to a waterfront Victorian house, he meets me in the drive, and fiddles with the garage door opener.
I anxiously await the reveal, seeing the possibility of an addition to my pile. As the slowest rising door opens, I see too wide a tire to be vey old, then the rest presents.
He has a dusty, old (to him at least) 96 993 Twin Turbo with 46k miles on it.
Uhhh...I can't afford this. Elation replaced with despair.
Nice car, silver blue with gray interior.
Someone told him $189k is the number, I think in 2015. Sat at that price for 2 years.
Seems to me like all P cars have cooled. Now he has asked me to sell it for him, and think a more real number is prudent.
Thoughts or recent comps? Are these being exported? It seems like that market has mostly gone away.
Car is completely stock, except the calipers that are silver (my Porsche nut daughter thinks the original owner must have watched the Top Gear episode covering people with red calipers, and had them refinished!)

Service records would be absolutely key with 46K miles. Assuming clear, concise and thorough documentation and records, I think you top out at $150K. Course, I'm just sitting here in the cheap seats....

I saw one 2 months ago with 19K miles asking $200k, so who knows anymore?

Nick, I think that sounds more reasonable. Service records are non existent after 2 moves between 3 states. The service book is stamped, so maybe records can be exhumed through the dealers.
I am in the way cheap seats, nothing Turbo. Nothing I have has less than 100k, Turbo world must be another world. I am going to suggest or perhaps insist that someone get a PPI before they buy.
Knowing always beats a surprise.
Porsche dealer just went through it and recommended new rear struts and a new battery. Owner had them do both.
Would like to put a number on it that sells it rather than speculate.
Owner is simply not driving it, and keeping it around without the upside is not likely.

If the paint is original, car is completely stock (do you have original rims) and no major needs after a thorough PPI, I would say it's worth around $125k or so in this market. If the car is extra nice maybe a little more. Documentation is key if you want all the money. Sports seats will bring more money also.

Market was stronger in 15. Not many comps out there.

Thanks for the input Specialty, I went to the car and photographed the inside of the rear wheel with my phone, sure enough, the part number is for a later Turbo wheel. This is news to the owner, and good to know now rather than later. Seems like the front marker lights should be orange as well.
The caliper color change, wheels, and markers must have been tinkered with by orig owner. A taste thing likely, although in this respect I would prefer correct as delivered.
A very nice car, just a few things fiddled with. Markers are likely common, and easy to find. Not so much on the wheels though.

With a car of this caliper, I would pay the most reputable indie in your neck of the woods for a thorough (and dated) PPI that you can supply to interested parties. Anyone forking over that kind of dough will get their own anyway, but it's nice to know the seller went the extra mile to show there are no skeletons in the closet. Carfax too.

Maybe they even find something...that would be good to know also. As I said, you top out at $150, but I don't think you'll get it.

The silver calipers could be from the factory. I had a 993 TT that was factory ordered with silver calipers (verified on COA and options sticker). The "turbo" script on the tale looks to be the later 996 version, which was/is the common replacement when the whale tales are painted. Any known reason the script was replaced, such as paint work?

Seems to me that the paint on the front and rear bumper cover are perfect. Too perfect to have 46k on the clock. Absolutely no signs of repair, no mismatch paint either. Doesn't mean something hadn't been touched up. Carfax shows nothing, and car is nicer than most, but not as nice as a 3k mile queen.
I think a PPI will tell a buyer if it's a 150 or a 120 value. I don't see anything selling for less than that, but I am not on BAT either.
Above it was suggested sport Seats would raise the value. Would that be true even if not on the coa? What would a set of 96 wheels go for? Worth the owner making these investments?
I'll have to look into the caliper color, didn't know silver was possible. I have not seen the Coa
