Nathan, you need to chill out. You made your private matter public and anyone who hasn’t agreed with you has been met with hostility. You’re angry about this and taking it out on anyone who doesn’t offer you thoughts and prayers. You can’t just tell me to shut up and expect me to leave. Own your shyte. Or put me on ignore if you don’t like what I’m saying. You don’t have to hear me.

... Thank you Fred Apgar I do not have a smart phone here as cell phones barely work.
Open communication is key to avoid all forms of hassles and frustration in this fine community.

Fred,
A simple email to Nathanbs to this affect would have avoided the need for this thread.

Nathanbs,
I totally understand the panic attacks when $$$$ hangs in the balance and you feel like the other party is ignoring you. Believe me, I've been there, LOL.

Again I repeat,

Open communication is key to avoid all forms of hassles and frustration in this fine community.

Those that don't communicate openly are the ones to watch out for in my book, hint hint.
I think Fred's fine, with his responses here.

Go work it out !!! (Third time I've said this)

the moment

I have just responded to an email from Nathan and said I will have a glass of red wine and go to bed and deal with this tomorrow. This is not that hard and I need to speak with him first. So a little silence would be appreciated.I am 66 and this is past my bedtime. In deference to Nathan he did send another email 15 minutes later but I had gone to bed and the next day the internet was not good so leave him alone.I am here and he is there and none of you are here who get your instant goddamn gratification for your every text.I see the downfall of mankind with the current technology.I am retired here on the west coast beach for 14 years and I see the demise of the family here. For many years here the family was a unit. Now at every bus stop or whatever people are looking at their device. They say most people spend 9-11 hours a day on their device. So lighten up for our situation.Let us discuss things first and then we can go from there. Thanks Ciao Fred

Matt I can tell you whatever I want however I want whether you like it or not. You bring a lot of heat to the kitchen and you know the saying about if you don’t like to get burnt. You can stay or go I could care less. I came on here for opinions and I got them and I’m thankful for that. I don’t think anytime is too soon for an opinion on what people think is a fair resolution. Perhaps some of you guys could stand to re-read my original post as it wasn’t a call to arms. If you thought that I was rushing to judgement perhaps that would have been your first comment to me as that was what I was looking for. I wasn’t looking for pitchforks and torches nor was I looking to be told that it was my fault nor was I looking to be told I deserve $1000-2000. That’s where it got out of hand if it even got out of hand. I was just looking for some sound advice on what I should expect and in what time frame because I was ready to lose my ****. Same thing just happened on a car I bought. Seller stopped all communication for 72 hrs and the shipper said he was unable to reach him as well despite having tentavily scheduled a pick up date. I lost it and went into full panic mode and figured I had been ripped off. Things are different through the internet. I can’t empahsize enough on how important communication is

Yes. Our society has become "Instant Gratification", Expectations are Too High and instant. Days of hand shake deals " Your Word" is rare or non existent.
We forget that others have lives, family or things going on that may be different from yours.
These forums are great for sharing knowledge, but also remind us the bad side of "Instant Gratification" Society we live in. Given some patience, most of all this could have been avoided. We live in a great time, but at what price?

As for the OP, you mention that you run your own business( collision center/ restoration shop). You should consider that some of your perspective customers or anyone interested in your service, may think twice after reading some or many of your post. Just my .02.

I comment to my wife about some of her friends who post "Everything" on Facebook. I refer to that as Emotional Vomit. Just because we can post, doesn't mean we should.

I hope your situation works out well and hopefully you will post a great pics of your restoration project.

Yeah looks perfect. So what was your involvement in packing your motor that way pmax?
Take it easy buddy - talk to an attorney. If he is honest and justnot in to bend you over for money he will tell you that you have no case. Suck it up and good luck with the car.

@fred

So what if you are 66, retired and in Costa Rica. You still made a ****ty job packing the engine. Work out a fair deal - also in your interest. Heaven or hell?

Nice bikini girl ronnie #me too

Gotta love this response. I like going off the grid myself now and again. Also gotta love MM's "fire, aim, ready" reference. Talk about knee jerk.

We should all have that glass of wine and chill. Let this thing settle out on it's own. Neither of them needs our advice.

I think you need to work on your reading comprehension. I said nothing about how you spoke to me. I said you can't tell me to shut up and leave and expect me to follow your command.

When I said a grand or two, I was talking labor, since your first post indicated that he had already committed to sending you the parts for the repair. You said you had a quote for well over $10k. When I asked for it, you admitted you didn't have a quote. I then laid out how I would handle it in detail, with getting an actual quote and presenting it to Fred. I didn't attack you. I didn't say your claim was unfounded. I said your $10k desired pay out was arbitrary and unreasonable high, and not something I saw you getting out of the seller.

I haven't said a single thing about trial by internet. I haven't attacked the victim. I have tried to encourage you to keep an even head about it, even though you were clearly steaming mad. And your response to it all was to attack me. Your behaviour here says way more about you and your character than me. You were offered help and guidance, you just didn't like what you were hearing.

I have spoken to my attorney on Friday over breakfast as we are in a networking group together and meet every Friday and he said slam dunk however for the dollar amount it’s best through small claims which is what I had already thought. Not sure where your legal perspective comes from but it’s clearly out of whack.

I appreciate your sentiment and concern but fortunately over 19 years I’ve built a stellar reputation and am so severely backlogged I could afford to lose a few “new customers”. Especially if they are offended by me being a consumer champion. Give me one example of a post I’ve made that would indicate that I may not do a perfect job or that I may not stand behind that job 100%?
