What would opinions be on this cluster? Original speedo? Swapped?

Highly doubt it's swapped. CJ is a pretty well known in the Porsche community. Anyone buying that car is going to have it inspected by a professional inside in out.

The color on the speedo needle is way more red than the tach creating a discrepancy that wouldn’t be present if it was in there the whole time. Likely swapped.

True, the color is different. However, the speedo could have been sent out for a refurb. The easy way to check mileage is to run a Carfax...or ask the seller.

I remember Daily Telegraph buyer's guide for a 930 from 90s, it said many people accumulated miles on another speedometer, original being tucked safely away.

There were two reasons for it: insurance payment was subject to annual mileage - huge discounts available for classic policies, eg. 3000 miles/annum. Another was depreciation of particularly low mile -examples, if one drove on another speedo, car value would not go down.

I guess this was before they heard of a little thing called "fraud".

Doesn't make sense to change the needle when being sent out for refurb. Doesn't even matter if he found another gauge made in the same month and put it in, that is not likely the gauge that came with the car. VIN is WP0ZZZ99ZTS390701 and it's a 1995 911 RS 3.8? That means there will be zero carfax on this car.

This is very true. I knew a lot of guys who did this - not with Porsches, but with Ferraris. It made economic sense in the Ferrari world for sure.

It could also be just the lighting on that particular photo. In the other photos of the car it's hard to tell. It's definitely something to look into though. But as I stated before, if your buying a $400k + classic Porsche you better be paying an expert to go through the car. It would pretty to easy to tell if the tach isn't original in person.

Car is advertised on RL.

i've seen this car in the dealership. it's gorgeous. can't speak to the speedo, but they have some nice air cooled cars there. i want to say they have 2 or 3 964 rs's and maybe another really nice 993.

i went there for a PCA DE meeting and didn't expect to see those there...

I have not seen Japanese RHD Porsche for long time, for some reason all of them are LHD (supposedly a status thing).
