Value of NOS 914 fog light kit
I recently found a "New Old Stock" 914 fog light kit. Part # 914 631 959 10. It's still in the original box with the original sales receipt from Don Yenko Porsche Audi in Canonsburg, PA. (yes, that Don Yenko). Has the lights, brackets, bulbs, chrome grilles and the fog light switch and relay.
I just pulled the lights out of the box. The silvering on one of the reflectors has failed 80%, the other about 10%. DAMMIT!! Can this be re-silvered? Was sold on new 2/22/80 for $$195 (plus tax). What do you think is a fair price to someone who wants the best for a nice early 914 resto? Thanks for your (hopefully constructive) input, Dan Last edited by touringmandan; 03-20-2018 at 10:21 AM.. |

Talk to Sergio. He restores them.

Re fog light kit
Good news(I think). I opened both fogs (very carefully). The "bad" reflector has lost it's silver, but is NOT rusted. The "good" reflector is 100% good. I was seeing the shadow of the "bulb cover" and taking the dark area as failing silver.
Does anyone have a REALLY nice early 914 fog light reflector? |
