Yeah I got that. Should be fun. I am flirting with the idea of building a 3.0 with mfi but it seems to be a lot easier said than done. The 2.7 is for a 74 euro carrera that I need to restore

Nope. Indiana Red. Look in the 924 Colors. It's uncommon even for 924's.
My COA does not even list it. It says 99 PTS Red. But I have all the original sales order forms from the 1st owner. They list the color it was ordered in and the door tag matches.

Not the best color red. But different.

Sorry, no clue how to make that link cleaner.

It's for sale by a flipper, so I'm assuming he paid somewhere in the low $30s and is trying for around $40K. Trouble with this car is that a ton of money was spent to make it like something up the food chain, and those are 90% unrecoverable costs. On the upside, as a 74, it's desirable to the CA market, so I won't be surprised to see it at a future Luftgekuhlt. $40K will seem pretty cheap to someone who has just cashed in his startup stock and whose pals are all driving McLarens.

$31k already and reserve not met? Jesus. People are stupid. Maybe I should sell my project car and my 86 and go buy a GT3...

Or a 930. I need one of those $50-60k driver 930s that's been floating around.

If it's for sale by a flipper he's doing a horrible job. Car has been posted everywhere for over 6 months.

Has it? I haven't been watching closely and just got bored the other day and was clicking around looking at cars. It does look like a dealer type used ID on ebay.

So does it have a later trans to work with electric speedo? Later trans is a higher geared which is not the right way to go with a 2.7RS...

The single picture of the gearbox you can see shows an early clutch release arm. That could be installed on a later gearbox but if you went the trouble of changing the box wouldn't you put in the omega spring arm?

Seems like a very sweet piece for 40ish. I’d be all over it ‘cept been there and done that already. Little gem of a motor with throttle response to die for. Who GAF about the gingerbread? Change it to taste. Fit 15s (unsprung mass, lower gear) and lose the boat anchor bumpers (weight and center of mass inboard) to sharpen it up. Then let ‘er rip.

Definitely not much of a marketing campaign.

jpsurfer 06-13-2018 07:38 AM

As mentioned the car has been offered for sale for quite some time. It was for sale by previous owner for I believe around $45k and likely bought for less by current owner/dealer. The dealer has been floating the car around for months at an asking price of somewhere around $85k. Interesting car but with all the incorrect items not in that ballpark obviously. I seriously doubt that it will be sold for anything close to $40k however.

1979-930 06-13-2018 08:27 AM

^^^ WHAT? $85k? Puff - Puff - Pass. He forgot to Pass.

omnivore 06-13-2018 10:09 AM

Never mind then. Market for this car is the guy with $ who has to have his first old 911.

2 days ago some new guy posted that it has been listed at $84k and then 15 minutes later pulled his post. Maybe this is a Colorado car and homey be smokin’!

Don’t be jealous Raw,
Matt and I may have very similar tastes towards the cars we like.
But we’re not texting at night... [emoji8]
