Hi - in the throws of changing my head gasket and noted that there are two "tensioning sleeves" which hold the gasket in place and locate the head. Other manufacturers call these dowel sleeves.

Well, turns out my heater core pipes do not...

Well, turns out my heater core pipes do not protrude into the engine bay. Found the clamps in the passenger compartment!

No idea why and seems dangerous! Any suggestions how this came to be ?

On my car the 10mm hex bolts pass through holes in the radiators. The holes have rubber grommets inside them.

I'll have another go tomorrow, but am at the point of buying a dremmel and cutting...

Having trouble removing the two lower radiator bolts.

They were rusted solid, managed to shift them but they are now spinning and not coming out.

Changing all my hoses on my euro spec 2.0 924.

How are the two small hoses which run to the heater connected? They seem to run through the bulkhead ... Where do they clamp? Inside the car ?

Thanks 924RACR. I've been quoted £130 ($200) for a re-core so will go with that. The radiator is all in good order, just seems sensible to make sure it stays that way if I am doing the head!
