the little brass ring is pushed onto the end of the white tube. the tube has 2 tits that hold it in place, so the resoldering needs to be neat.

R1100s low fuel sensor repair

So this is an update on the repair of an R1100s low fuel light failure.

history, low fuel indicator did not come on and i ran out of fuel, found another post on the Pelican forum of similar...

low fuel sensor died

so I can't find any information on how the low fuel sensor which is attached to the inside for the fuel tank access plate is suppose to function.

its a sealed unit and thats about all i can find,...

so i am in the hunt for the sealing plate on the fuel tank. my low fuel sensor has packed it in. the plate as the sensor (a little white cyl mounted and is no longer available you interested?

this has been resolved. it turns out that in it previous life at sometime a PO dicked with the TPS settings! the blue paint was missing which was a clue and when i pulled the boot i could see that...

neither of my 2 r1100s had the QD fuel line...

neither of my 2 r1100s had the QD fuel line connectors, so i added them to both bikes. its usually the male end that failed. and they are much easier to disconnect than trying to pull the fuel line...

what oil did you fill with?

the pink goo color begs the question.

the final drive calls for 75w90, and there have been problems when heavier weight oils have been used.
