the ticking is usually because the throttle cable has some tension so just back them both off so
you have some slack and the throttles are fully closed, then sync them so they pull open at the same...

once the alternator is up to speed it self powers...
once the alternator is up to speed it self powers with a separate set of rectifiers for the field
but if you are concerned about it verify it with a dvm

check the rear sub frame mounts on the aluminum...
check the rear sub frame mounts on the aluminum to steel connection
they break and the rear tab for the transmission mount they break as well

it's more likely the wrong spec sensor as I remember it on the early servo abs
the sensor went into the abs module then the abs...
