I can tell you that my 86 Carrera has the 10 mm bolts with the locking plates and unlike your picture the outer CV joint on my 86 is not replaceable. In short, different half shafts.

Thanks Ian and Glen. That makes sense. On disassembly I had the 2 either side of 13 but no even pieces of a seal inside the bell housing.
