10W might be on the thin side for an older engine at startup. 50 good for summer. Oil loses shape as it ages … keep on top of regular changes.

Mine originally came in at .85-.9mm. Thicker base gaskets took it out to 1.1-1.15mm. Runs strong with 10.2:1 CR. 1.5 seems a bit much.

Your engine is a SS 2.0, 80x66 mm crank. Yes, 81mm and higher compression would be a nice upgrade. But keep an ear out for pinging, you might need to run better gas.
