check engine fault code 1222 on 1992 325i
I got the 1222 code from the car, so I changed the 02 sensor hoping that would solve the problem, but it didn't. The car hesitates under acceleration and especially at slow speeds. Anyone have any ideas? I've done all of the regular stuff, new plugs, new air and fuel filters, new 02 sensor... nothing worked so far. Also when the car reaches normal operating temp, it is impossible to keep running. Car stalls either sitting at idle or as soon as you try to accelerate. If anyone can help I would appreciate it so much!!!

I wonder, because even after replacing the 02 sensor, I still get the 1222 fault code, so it seems like an emissions related problem. Any thoughts?

How did you check the codes? Scanner or gas pedal trick?

not to Hijack your thread, but how do you do the gas pedal trick. I've tried it and it hasn't worked for me yet. My check engine light DOES NOT come on when i start the car up normally. i wonder if that's a problem?

You should be able to find the BMW OBD-I gas pedal trick on the web easily. I think it is something like, turn ign to ON and press the pedal to the floor 5 times but I've never done it.
