Failed LEDs on 11-Button OBC Display
Is there any way to repair the failed LED segments on the 7 or 18 button clock/data display unit? Is the only solution to purchase a new unit?

Thanks for replying, Jeron. I must have used bad search criteria because I was not able to locate the posts that you referenced regarding repair of the E36 LED obc display. If you could find the information and point me to it I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.

hi dave
I have been trying to open the link but it is not working. Can you confirm if it is possible to repair the bad pixel on the LED. |

Hi adey,
The LED fix that is proposed in the bimmer forum replaces the backlighting for the 7-segment display - after thinking about it, I'm not sure this will fix my clock - I've got some LEDs that have maybe 5 of the 7 segments working so why would the backlighting make any difference? I guess if the entire LED was dark then maybe the backlighting is the likely cause, but with only certain segments of each LED bad it may be a more serious issue with the electronics. |

May be a bad solder on the LED's in question. That seems to ring bell.
