Trailing arm bushing - accidentally cut into arm a bit, am I screwed :O ?
![]() so on my quest to get out my trailing arm bushing my saw was in a bit of an angle and i did not notice that it was cutting into the back end of my arm a bit... the cut is about 1/8" or maybe 3/16 deep on the back side of it... i'm worried my car is going to kill me now Am I over reacting?? something I can just liquid weld up?? On the bright side, it came right out and it is on the beefy side of the arm, not on any skinny part... I think i'm alright, but just wanted check with a pro

You have created a sharp spot where a crack can start in a piece of metal that is under stress all the time, but I would use it. I might put something in that slot to keep the water out, but that's all.

At the very least, i'd fill that slot with JB Weld, then sand it down.

k, when I was cutting it was very deceiving on how straight the cut was near the end and it just went through like butter
glad it was in the thickest part of the arm
