2006 320d tourer,on first start up in morning engine kicks out white smoke for a couple of seconds and runs a little rough, I changed glow plugs and engine noe rums smoothly on start but still whith smoke for a couple of seconds. no visable smoke for rest of day

Is the cooling system low? White smoke is likely coolant. I would pressure test the cooling system. If the system will not hold pressure and there are no external leaks the head gasket may be faulty.
