That old oil cooler is a Billy Boat (aka B&B) part.

Thanks. I saw one on a well built 911 race car at the track a couple weeks ago so I thought it was something pretty decent.
I dropped the bumper off at the fiberglass shop today. Now time to machine some permanent oil cooler brackets.

I'm slowly making progress on the front bumper. It's back from the fiberglass guy. He did a great job putting it back together for $200. From the outside, you can't see the seam at all.
I do have an outstanding issued with rear bumper to resolve. Apparently there's supposed to be a rubber seal between the body under the rear reflector and the top of the bumper. I've looked through the PET and can't figure out what seal it is. Anyone know? It's about a 1/2" gap so it's not just the thin seal with the rounded edge. ![]() Front bumper after putting it back together: ![]() ![]()

David, unrelated but need to pass on my RESPECT. Seems like your engine / EFI build was one of the first ones I followed along with when I joined this board, and here you still are riffing on the same car. That’s cool.

My first "go-fast" cool aftermarket part that I ever bought (in 2005) was from David.

Thanks, it's my forever project
![]() Just wait til I retire and really start working on it! (I think I need to add a narrow long hood to the stable to have a matching set, maybe call it the wife's car)

I let the gap in the rear stay for extra cooling and put same heat tape at the bumper where the turbo is.

I’ve got the bumper on and it’s pretty tight to the fenders and looks good. Getting it to clear the oil cooler was a pain. Cutting an inch out of the middle with this cooler was not the best idea. I’ll post final cooler mount pics when I get a chance but needless to say it didn’t mount the way I expected.
What’s are y’all’s thoughts on the bumper cooler opening center divider? I’ve stared at the IROC Porsche book so long I’m seeing double. I can’t tell if the center slat is part of the fiberglass bumper or part of the mesh screen insert.

Here are some IROC pics showing the vertical bar in the oil cooler opening. I still can't tell if it's part of the fiberglass bumper but from pics I've found of later cars, it seems like nobody has the bar.

The bumpers are off getting painted, meanwhile I’m working on the turn signals. Spoke’s LED lights make setting up the front turn signals a snap. Since they fit inside the lenses, there’s no need for a housing. So mounting just requires 2 little bolt holes and a hole for the wires. I plan to install with butyl tape to keep water out.

Painted and ready to install. I'm going to go a little off script and put driving lights into the brake duct holes since I have GT3 brake ducts on the A-arms.

Seams like it might work to drill holes in the top and bottom of the bumper. Then slide in a piece of 3/8” metal round stock that was painted to match. May be to late though. Seeing as the bumpers are already painted. It’s looking good

Looks great. I'm working on installing the same bumpers on my '77 with turbo flares added... I also had fitment problems that required a lot of cutting and massaging. Could you please share what products you ended up using for seals front and rear between the bumpers and the body?
