The market's gone wild! Stuff's either super hard to find or the prices are out of this world. Take the 3.2s, for example. You used to be able to pick one up for like $6,500, but now they're starting at $15K and up, and that's just for one that might need some TLC. And don't even get me started on rebuilt 3.3s - $35K is steep, but I guess it's a relative bargain if the rebuild's done properly.

Well I am really disappointed I bought an ignition switch 3 years ago genuine Porsche part and now I am haveing issue with it not making contact in the run position

Nice progress. When you slide the cams in they spin freely, otherwise you’ll need to try retorquing the cam tower fasteners in random sequences until the cams don’t bind. Ideally this is done before the anaerobic sealant sets up, but you’ll probably be fine

Just got notified that the cams are done and he got in a shipment of rocker arm bushings so he will finish up the work on my parts this week and they will ship out Tuesday

Today I worked on repairing the satellite antenna on the Porsche and tested it I will leave the receiver installed in the 911 since I have Sirius in the new car until the end of Aug

Final build specifics:
79 3 liter engine cleaned and refurbished Crank magnafluxed balanced and polished std/std Pauter rods ARP con rod bolts Camshafts and rocker arms refurbished and new grind specific to this build by Dockerty Mahle Motorsport 930 3.2 pistons and cylinders 7.5 to 1 C/R Coated bearings and gasket set from EBS GT 3 oil pump piston squirters reamed out 10 thousands of an inch Upgraded oil bypass pistons ARP head studs and through bolts New pressure fed tensioners Refurbished heads twin plugged New Siemens deka 60 lb injectors All the engine tins powder coated Modified scavenger system to pump back to crankcase vent Installed new 1/2 inch fuel lines stainless steel Turbo sent back to Turbokraft and upgraded with billet wheels to support more horsepower Installed strut tower bracing in preparation for coilover suspension New Sachs power clutch tower support the expected horsepower increase What do you all think? |
