The cams and rockers on the way to Dockerty I am sure spelling is wrong the heads are on the way to get twin plugged and I have finished the wiring for twin plug EDIS at some point I want to go COP. Should have a short block in a couple months. |
You have to heat those studs to get them out. They wont come out without heating, or risk further damage.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1738101708.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1738101708.jpg 8 of 11 out says he is going to remove the last 3 this afternoon and then needs to clean up some of them and install the timeserts |
Going to fly cut the cylinder spigots to true them up before install of cylinders
|
Also he is going to ream the piston squirters .010 and remove plugs and flush oil galleys after blasting the case halves and clean the case for reassembly
|
A question was asked what methods were used to to remove the studs and he has basically been soaking the studs with pb blaster since got the case and welded nuts to the broken stud but most were too brittle and broke off flush with the case so they had to be machined out and timesert installed. It’s been expensive to say the least the same with all the exhaust studs. This the result of the ********* that left the engine out in that wonderful Florida salt air and at least 2 hurricanes

I have Silverlake titanium exhaust studs to go back in

Well one case half all head studs out and threads are good the other case half has 3 head studs with damaged threads and will be repaired then the case will get modified for the GT3 oil pump.

Just got off the phone with my engine builder and upon a discussion with another top race engine builder he suggested the crank getting cross drilled so it greatly increases the oil to the crank bearings and since we have an oil pump with much greater oil flow it makes sense to get it to places it’s needed.

I think I got my grounding and power issues worked out they appear to be brighter than when I first installed them looking back on old pics. |
Great job on the engine and wiring work. Your engine should be bulletproof with all the upgrades and attention to detail you are putting into it. Wiring work is not my favorite, you have a lot of patience to figure it all out.
