Twin plugging with 964 twin dizzy?
Guys -- Has anyone here done this on 930 in their efi conversion? What is involved? At first blush seems like a much easier (and maybe less costly?) conversion than multi coils w/trigger wheel on crank.

Joe,
There are pros and cons to doing this, which I'll let others hash out. But it can be done with a twin distributor (which used to be debated). Here's a thread where I posted a pic of an EFI 930 with a 964 distributor. Pelican thread Rob |

YermanCars -- I just was reading another post and see you're going to do this. What's required? Last edited by JoeMag; 11-17-2006 at 12:42 PM.. |

saw that to. Also saw his for sale thread. I wonder if he is supercharging it or something as he was talking about DE's etc.. Anyhow on topic I think the EDIS is the way to go its pretty cheap if you already have EFI . if not go the dizzy route

Crank fired (timed to cam, obviously) distributorless ignition with typically multiple coil packs. Think new car applications applied to our older cars.
Many are using the Ford packs, which I also plan to do. There are some articles here and elsewhere...usually in reference to TECII or MegaSquirt type EFI's though obviously others apply.

If you use a 964 dizzy, don't you have to change the gear drive on the crank?

Like 930Rocket suggests, don't SC and 930 engines require a reverse rotation dizzy or gear swap?

964 distributor will require a 3.6 dizzy drive gear on the crank. Contact Steve Weiner at Rennsport Systems for more info.
