You guys are giving me bad ideas for my Ur-quattro resto project http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat1.gif
|
So......... what's the latest on this rig????? it's got to be getting to done.
|
Body will be completed with the GTR tail by end of April beginning of May, should be picking up another 935 style tail after I get the motor fit.
More updates in a few days. |
Nothing much to report except for a few pics of eye candy of the 935 rear 19" wheels and fans pre shipping to the shop in Van Nuys.

Really great job......your engine is amazing.....
Wich EFI management do you use....? |
Its FAST standalone engine management all custom done by a shop in California. Custom built turbos etc. The original customer pulled all the stops for this motor.
|
OK.....I know their products (reading only..) through GSF EFI proposal.....wich one are you using....?......
And did you built your engine or bought it as it is.....? Thanks. |
I'm purchasing the engine already built and tuned from a fellow Pelican member, sorry I don't have more info on the setup as its really not my forte. I just know nothing but the best was used on the motor. I do know for a fact that this motor has pulled over 850 hp at the rear wheels, so whatever components their using for fueling, its working!
The only changes I plan on making are to have a friend of mine construct a set of equal length inkenil (spelling?) headers to get rid of the frankenstein ones on there currently. |
KILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you can't beat the old 930s!!!!!!
|
Reaper, great work. You gottta have a flat fan to fully complete your project... take a look at Micke Sven's site.
http://www.spezialmotorer.com/ He's also got lots of 935 motor reproduction stuff. |
Yeah but at $35k for a fan...I think I can do without. His parts are TOP OF THE LINE...but I just can't justify any of his stuff due to the extremely expensive nature.
Put it this way, my car when finished will have cost less than one of his 900 bhp twin turbo 935 replica motors. I have funding...but priorities list this project at 4 or 5, not #1. |
Reaper,
Good to see you making some serious progress!! Saw that motor for sale a couple months back, glad it went to someone in the fold. It reads killer...! Paul |
Sweet mother of..........that is one hell of an engine !!!!!!!

I absolutely love the colour, the wheels, the wings, the fenders, the hubs, the motor.... AWESOME! |
Thanks guys, should have the body back together here in a couple of weeks getting the hubs and suspension fit. Can't wait to update you guys again soon!
Again thanks for the kind comments. |

P.S. You might want to use a different method of securing the oil drain line from the turbo to the turbo sump pump. That tie-wrap will fail in no time flat at those oil/exhaust temps. :D |
Thanks, the motor is still in the other car as we're not swapping until July time frame. There are a few point on the motor in which we're going to make revisions. I'm not happy that everything isn't all stainless steel braided lines...so just about everything is going to go to AN fittings :)
|
Great score Reaper! you saved yourself tons of headaches by finding an already built motor.

This project just went from fantasy wish I were to "for real"! No offense, but I was thinking this was going to be a cool looking car kinda. Now it seems to be front page killer!
