clock
Clock is held in place by thick rubber surround O ring like rubber gasket thing. Merely grip clock bezel/edges with fingers and wriggle it loose and out. All other gauges in you 79 are secured in similar fashion. EPS - Tucson

I used a stiff putty knife to get under it and slowly and gently worked around the bottom of it and it eventually loosened up enough to pull it out. Good Luck.

You might want to coat that edge with a little tape, and also tape around the area, so that in case you slip it will protect against an unsightly scratch.

Now I am having trouble running this line, there seems to be no openings between the gauge cluster and underneath the dash, is there some trick to this too?
