A little rear valence question...
I need a replacement rear valence for my 79 30. Will any single outlet/single pipe exhaust 911 valence fit or is there something different about turbos?
Thanks, Doug |

Doug - I have 3 in stock right now. Can cut to order. Give me a call or e-mail.
To directly answer your question, the difference in the 930 vs the 911 valance is the location. The 930 pushes the valance more toward the rear of the car.

I think the passenger side end is around a 3/4 inch longer so it tucks in under the edge of the right rear quarter extension on the turbo and doesn't leave a gap.
They aren't very expensive. |

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the information. I'm getting closer.
I now know the basic difference between the two, but, short of a part number stamped into it somewhere, I'm still unable to identify what I have if there's only one lying in front of me. It's also not clear whether the mounting holes on the turbo bumper are drilled farther back, or if differences in the valence mounting flange postions it farther back. I'd like to have one unique dimension that would allow me to quickly tell one from the other. From what I'm hearing, maybe the dimension from the center of a bolt hole to the tip of the valence on the passengers side. One that would capture the exact length of the wrap-around. It wouldn't matter if it was a 911 or 930 valence, as long as I knew the length for that specific type. The valence I have now has been modified. My stock muffler was previously modified by welding a second outlet on the passenger's side creating a dual outlet set-up. My valence was cut to accomodate that. I'm getting rid of the second outlet and, as such, need to replace the valence. My real problem is that I have no reference to start with. Brian - I'd really prefer to stick with stock sheetmetal. If I can't find one in a reasonable time - I'll talk to you about a glass one. Thanks again, Doug Last edited by Doug Smith; 05-05-2008 at 05:32 AM.. Reason: spelling |

An easy to identify difference is the angle of the bolt tabs on hole #1 and #6 on the 930 valance. The 930 bumper is tapped farther back for the valance which puts #1 and #6 on an angle. 911 valance mounting tabs are all flat.
I understand why you would want to stay stock. F/G is best suited for custom applications.
