930 Turbo spec diff US vs RDW
Hello, I recently bought another 930 Turbo (own 3 overall).
I know there is the hp difference to the EU model with 260HP. the US version has only 245hp. Do anyone of you know which changes exactly cause the hp difference. Is it only the thermal reactor or also another set-up in the control unit. Did anyone change the set-up to the 260hp version? Thank you for any comments. cal |

The only difference between the two that caused a reduction in power is the exhaust. Compression, cams, timing and fuel delivery remains the same.

The 260HP Euro is the 3.0L from '76/7. The '78- on Euro had 300HP.

The black iron fuel distributor was identical for the US & ROW. The European conversion was unnecessary until the US aluminum version was installed in '86. Even this version was capable of making plenty of power, the limitations came mostly from the amount of air volumn the stock intake could manage. The beauty of the 930 is the start life as being very fast and can be modified to completely rediculous. My car is nearly stock and it can generate wheel spin in second gear.
