Baseline Dyno results

I took the car to the Hershey swap meet last weekend and racked up some break-in miles. Currently about 550 miles on the build and its running nicely. I just did the 3rd oil change, adjusted the valves and checked the torque on the headstuds (they didn't need any more).

Today I had the car on the dyno for a few pulls. With no tuning, she put down just shy of 350hp to the rear wheels (with similar torque figures). Torque arrives at 325 by 3250rpm and then builds slowly up to max value around 5000rpm.

This was on a Dynojet dyno, 3rd gear pulls and we shut her down at 5500 rpm. Max boost is around .65 bar just shy of 10psi, as I haven't reinstalled my manual boost controller yet. Probably a good thing because the afrs climb to about 12.1 by 5500rpm. Its the typical CIS fuel curve, dropping into the low 10's by 3750, where it stays until about 4500, then climbing up to 12.1 at 5500. The turbo boost starts to drop off after 4500 too.

Looks like I have some tuning to do. Thinking I may need to raise system pressure to get more fuel up top, then play with the adjustable WUR to deal with the fat midrange. Seems like I could turn up the boost a bit and get more torque in the midrange, and take advantage of all the fuel I have there, but its going to be even more lean on top then. I wonder if this is the right turbo though as it doesn't seem to even be holding 10psi after 4500rpm.

The car rips on the street...boost builds very quickly.

Hey Jacob,
We had a blast zipping around after Hershey. You did a great job with your car. We must hookup again soon.

I didn't see it, but now I have. Registered to post a comment.

Does the seller in a BAT auction have control over whether comments are posted publicly? I've tried to put in comments but they are not appearing. I have only positive things to say about my old car, but I wonder if I am being censored for some reason.

I see that some chowderhead replaced the Kokeln intercooler with the pitiful stocker and also removed your boss custom front valence (presumably also removed the nose cooler) - what a shame, there.

That's strange you should be able to comment right away, I believe BaT might email a confirming email to your personal email for account verification which is typical these days, but that's about it. The seller does not control the comments but any comment can be flagged and removed if deemed non-constructive.

"chowderhead"....laughing... I happen to really like chowder of the clam variety. I bet the seller removed the other aftermarket bits in an effort to claim (or rather hope) that bone stock cars bring in more $$. I noticed that the Kinesis wheels are also gone.

Crotch chowder?!?!?

No doubt about the parts-removal reason; people (some/many of them) are so dumb and lame when it comes to the whole "stock is best" concept.

I did the account confirmation through email. I kept the Fikse wheels when I sold the car...sold the wheels to a forum member earlier this summer.
