getting engine up on engine stand
How do most of you guys lift the engine onto the engine stand? I ask because I dont own a hoist.
Just have a floor jack and dont want to buy a hoist for 1 job.

I had some friends help me after installing the engine mount. Just lifted it up and inserted it into the stand. Of course, anything y ou can remove to lighten the load helps.
Next would be renting a hoist. |

Oh that is easy. Just build a wooden blocks to support your jack or motorcycle jack which you used to rest the engine on. You can then raise it to the height of your engine stand, and slip the engine stand in between the blocks.
See attached picture on how I built mine. I raised heavy ass 964/993 engine like this by myself and in relatively safety. ![]() |
