3.2 intake, how versatile

i am considering collecting parts to build a back-up motor for my 3.3 turbo motor. i want to use a 964 case and have 102mm nickies already. 1st- can i use my extrude honed 3.2 manifold on this case? if not , what is recommended? can i use a standard 964 crank? i have recently heard guys speak of offset grinding rod journals for more stroke. is this possible with this crank? i am just starting out, so i would like to collect the proper parts from the gate. this wont be a track car, more of an unfulfilled desire to finally build a porsche engine.

thanks in advance for suggestions and experience

kevin

ps: car comes out of the shop with tarett sway bar front new front bushings, rebuilt strut housings, new tie rods, shod with new Dorociak 3.6 wheels, and a b/b dual exit exhaust.....pics to follow

IIRC, the 3.2 intake has a different bolt pattern to the head than the 3.6. You might be able to make adapter blocks if you are using 3.6 heads. I think there are blocks to convert the 3.2 bolt pattern for a 3.6 manifold but I don't know of the opposite.

Think you will be good with the 964 crank, but some other might come with better details.

Just know that my 3.3 case has the 964 crank that makes it a stroker. Use with 98mm pistons

stroker motor

what is your displacement with 964 crank and 98 mm cylinders? does it require custom rods, or pistons with raised pin height? i was really interested in the 964 case as a starting point.

are there adapter blocks to mate the 3.2 intake to 964 case, or is there something comparable as far as flow that bolts directly to 964 heads?

thanks, kevin

The 964 crank has the original 3.3 turbo rods w/ARP rod bolts. As far as I know standard 98mm P/C. (JB racing cylinders and JE pistons)
