Considering you don't like yellow zinc , can't wait to see the color. Something to match the Blue I'm sure :)

Started to fit the wiring harness, what a mess. Luckily I record the colors, so I can sort it out:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400930540.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400930566.jpg It starts to look like a car inside slowly but truly: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400930647.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400930675.jpg Also I finished and routed the pumps, fuel lines and oil lines: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400930861.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400930909.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400930936.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400930963.jpg I could also remount the rear lights: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400931038.jpg |
Looking good , with a little more time you may be driving this summer :)
Kozmo |
Man that is some awesome progress, is it safe to assume that you roll the car out to work on it or do you do most of the work where it sits...cause it looks like such a tight fit...;)

But as soon the front flares are mounted and the doors are ready to add, I will for sure |
Beautiful work!

Nice, Nice, Nice
That wiring harness looks a little fat, surely there are a few extra wires you can remove?........LOL |
Somebody hide his drill! LOL
|
On my way, nothing is save;)
Present horn, was lighter than stock too: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1401830628.jpg New one, smaller and I made an aluminum bracket and spacer plus used an aluminum nut as well. Result: Saved another 126gr: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1401830773.jpg For those who want to know how small, that small: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1401830834.jpg BTW I have no idea how it sounds, but at least it's street legal and over 100dB loud:D |
Maybe I should downgrade mine too. I only have one now but it sounds like an T ford and people just laugh when I press it at anger : )
Maybe I should install the ductail to go with it for total humiliation. Did you search for the weight or just grab one that felt light? What did you do with the rear lights, the heavy anchors? |
Roland, you are ruthless, fascinating to follow. However, I can help wondering, are stainless oil and fuel lines not much heavier than later style "composite" hose?

PS: Roland, nice touch with the Barbie-sized horn - sweet as always!!! :D |
I hope you are using improved aero dynamics to keep this paperweight from blowing around. Oh...have you though about a lightweight bra's requirement for female passengers? Or better yet...no bra's allowed :). Your cars are road taxed by weight right? Do you get a chance to reassess the weight once done?

Rear lights are plastic now, look my earlier post about here: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-930-turbo-super-charging-forum/634616-another-rust-combat-3.html#post6517390 |

Fuel lines are a bit heavier than the PVC ones in the tunnel, but they are not useable with my aluminum fittings and were very old. However I did not have any fitting from pump to pump / return to tank, so this save a bit weight at least. Further all fuel lines are Teflon/SS, so I suggest they are lighter than stock rubber. Aluminum fittings allover help to save weight too. Oil lines are SS/Rubber because they are "smoother" to route in that size, but of course, Teflons would be lighter. Finally I never saw AN-12 PTFE fittings and hoses... |

My girlfriend actually never wears a bra, seriously! And NO I will not show:p She weights only about 50kg, what she always is woried not to pass. So she fits my concepts very well:D Switzerland is very federalistic, every canton is different, in my area it's displacement mainly. Well even there is no goal I will weight once finished. Problem is, it will take a few years until I am finished, as I have thousands of ideas what to do next... |

Pics? I'm sure that Paul would like to see evidence of yer errrr, "big wing"!!! :D
See post one, not new but still big in my eyes Roland, you are one VERY fortunate man (and a real a-hole for refusing to post pics)!!! :D Yes I know, luck with girl - misfortune with car (sometimes) Pics? In your dreams:D I didn't know that Ken even had a "horn" - really do learn something new every day!!!! :D Please show me Barbie's then... |
Aaaaaarghhhhhhh
I test fitted the rear bumper today, BUT it won't fit anymore:(
Too wide (or body too small) now, further bolting points are not matching the flares and they did before project. If I mounte the 5 ones below reflector as before, none of the bolts on the flare can be mounted, holes not flushing. If I place the bumber best fit, the holes in the middle won't fit:mad: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1401904228.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1401904260.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1401904290.jpg I seriously have to talk to the body shop. Fit was way better before! |
Roland, I am familiar with your homemade, VERY awesome, big wing (first rate craftsmanship!) - I was just making a little , word-play joke for Paul's benfit (the "wing" representing "something else") - ha ha ha!
WOW, too bad the bodyshop fu@ked up your bumper - wonder how they accomplished that? |
hello,
your rear bumper was new for this projekt? you have test fit the new fiberglas part, make it fit and than gave it to the bodyshop? has the bodyshop tempered the part bevor finish and paint? have you check the fit than again? if not thats the problem... some fiberglas parts change a little bit there shape during the first few tempering phases... if you want more explanation let us write in german via mail or the elferteam.de Forum - ist much easier for me :( |
Hi Tom
No, bumper is on the car since 2011. I had a lot of work to fit it well, but in the end it was fine. More about in my thread here: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-930-turbo-super-charging-forum/555993-help-iroc-rear-bumper-do-you-suggest.html Reason now is that flares have been removed, most of the back tub replaced (see earlier in this thread). Simply said the flares are not in same position now. Bumper is within same measurements than before, the car not... Here pics of 2011, no comparison to now:( http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1401918985.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1401918997.jpg |
My girlfriend agreed to post a pic of her without bra;)
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1401919399.jpg |
^^^^ Nice, but too bad the camera is on the wrong side (well, it is on one of the "right" sides)!!! :D
|
[QUOTE=proffighter;8099475]My girlfriend agreed to post a pic of her without bra;)
Well we all agree on some things ... By the way what size are your rear tires ? Kozmo |
How many boats do you see in the picture? Was that done intentionally? I feel like a pervert now. I will have to go to confession.

Spent some time on the lathe to lighten screws for hood hinges etc...
Each bolt weighted before 14gr, now 8gr http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1402581310.jpg |
:)
|
what metal for these fasteners...? looks like either stainless or titanium...very nice...if titanium, what bit material are you using on your lath...?
thx & keep up the great work... |
Quote:
Titan is in most cases (same as cf instead of fg) not worth the price, at least for me BTW drilling is the issue here, as SS is damn bad to drill in little diameters, HSS is not strong enough for more than one row. Used Titan nitraded ones, but they thend to break very easy, brittle like hell Of course this is only an issue at home with lower rpm's and only spray cooling |
While other things don't come like wished and need excessive effort, I fitted the front fenders. Now it starts looking like a car more and more:)

Proffighter, I absolutely love the color of the car. I enjoy reading and watching your madness on this car. Anticipating more progress in your posts, and then the end result of your work. Very cool.
|
Very impressive that you can work in such a "tight" garage :)
Very exciting to see all this fine progress :) Cheers / Tobias |
Back on her own feet!
Fitted wheels and cage, not easy without scratching the paint

Stunning!!!
