Another rust combat

Considering you don't like yellow zinc , can't wait to see the color. Something to match the Blue I'm sure

Started to fit the wiring harness, what a mess. Luckily I record the colors, so I can sort it out:






It starts to look like a car inside slowly but truly:






Also I finished and routed the pumps, fuel lines and oil lines:










I could also remount the rear lights:

Man that is some awesome progress, is it safe to assume that you roll the car out to work on it or do you do most of the work where it sits...cause it looks like such a tight fit...

If have the possibility to roll out the car, but until now, I did not

But as soon the front flares are mounted and the doors are ready to add, I will for sure

Present horn, was lighter than stock too:




New one, smaller and I made an aluminum bracket and spacer plus used an aluminum nut as well. Result: Saved another 126gr:

BTW I have no idea how it sounds, but at least it's street legal and over 100dB loud

Maybe I should downgrade mine too. I only have one now but it sounds like an T ford and people just laugh when I press it at anger : )

Maybe I should install the ductail to go with it for total humiliation.

Did you search for the weight or just grab one that felt light?

What did you do with the rear lights, the heavy anchors?

Roland, you are ruthless, fascinating to follow. However, I can help wondering, are stainless oil and fuel lines not much heavier than later style "composite" hose?

No need for the composite versions when Ruthless Roland has his trusty drilling rig at his disposal - just Swiss cheese those bit@hes!!! Ohhhh what, then he would have to put catch pans everywhere, and if he drilled those, then . . . .

I hope you are using improved aero dynamics to keep this paperweight from blowing around. Oh...have you though about a lightweight bra's requirement for female passengers? Or better yet...no bra's allowed . Your cars are road taxed by weight right? Do you get a chance to reassess the weight once done?

I searched for smaller diameter and checked when available weight. At same size they are mostly similar weights, so diameter is all you need to know. Steel bracket is also a factor, so I made one myself

Fuel lines are a bit heavier than the PVC ones in the tunnel, but they are not useable with my aluminum fittings and were very old. However I did not have any fitting from pump to pump / return to tank, so this save a bit weight at least. Further all fuel lines are Teflon/SS, so I suggest they are lighter than stock rubber. Aluminum fittings allover help to save weight too.
Oil lines are SS/Rubber because they are "smoother" to route in that size, but of course, Teflons would be lighter. Finally I never saw AN-12 PTFE fittings and hoses...

My girlfriend actually never wears a bra, seriously! And NO I will not show

She weights only about 50kg, what she always is woried not to pass. So she fits my concepts very well

Switzerland is very federalistic, every canton is different, in my area it's displacement mainly.

Well even there is no goal I will weight once finished. Problem is, it will take a few years until I am finished, as I have thousands of ideas what to do next...

I test fitted the rear bumper today, BUT it won't fit anymore

Too wide (or body too small) now, further bolting points are not matching the flares and they did before project. If I mounte the 5 ones below reflector as before, none of the bolts on the flare can be mounted, holes not flushing. If I place the bumber best fit, the holes in the middle won't fit









I seriously have to talk to the body shop. Fit was way better before!
