Upgrading a stock 3.2 engine

Ok, could be a risky question...
Stock 88 Carrera, what are options to add on a turbo/super charger without breaking the bank or the engine?

What CR does it have? US or Euro spec engine ?
People here have added turbos, but without changing CR you may run low boost

It's not hard, you have a good base with the G50, Aus 3.2 will be low compression 217hp which is perfect for 7-10psi. If you car is a 231hp euro car you shouldn't do it unless you lower your compression.

What is breaking the bank?

You can do it for about 5-6K, less if you get some good deals on parts, best money you will ever spend though, 217 > 360chp. You need headers or jpipe, turbo, wastegate, wastegate pipe, muffler, RRFPR, oil lines, charge pipe/intercooler, misc pipes and fittings and a few days of messing around. Also the rear torsion bars will need to be upgraded as you will get some serious squat with the extra 140hp.

Thanks guys, yes it's a 231 hp engine euro spec car.
Costs sound ok even if doubled which is where most things end up (still smarting from discovering what dilavar head studs are).
Could be a little too much for me to tackle.
Appreciate the feedback. Andy

Costs would be much higher for a euro car, the compression is too high for boost without knock sensing, you will have to drop the engine and either run some thick base gaskets to lower the compression or different Ps & Cs either way $$$$, wait until you need an engine rebuild and do it then. Problem is 3.2s go for a long time!!
