Hams, your car is absolutely gorgeous.

I agree, lower the rear just a tad.

Stunning car!

Looking good Chris (aka: baby's butt hands :D), but why no pics of yer boss intercooler mounted and rockin' in all its glory?! No (additional) commentary on wheel diameter choice, however!!!! :D

Oh, and FU for removing yer a/c - I'm about to spend a bunch of coin, and even more work, to get mine up to par with the sh#t heat and humidity we've got here (until November, I might add)!!! :)

(I do hope to know the status of your roller within the coming week or so - front wheels are ON, rears await this / next week... sorry for the delay, appreciate yer patience - and hoping I won't need it http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/silly.gif)

I didn't bother to adjust the rear because the shop who is doing the alignment will also corner balance it. They can easily adjust the rear height for me on the rack. Just makes sense to let them get it for me. I set it close enough for now. Should happen next week if I can find a cooler day to drive it.

Intercooler - I am fabbing up the "up pipe" to connect from the compressor outlet up to the inlet of the intercooler. I anticipate finishing that off this weekend.

What I need to remove is the protection plate in the front right corner of the car for the oil cooler. My front right wheel is nailing that when I turn left.

Man didn't know you were in the process of upgrading A/C. You know I have a complete Griffiths setup with the dual rear coolers for sale right? Even have a brand new Denso compressor. - Let me know if you need anything.

Chris.

Chris, the new intercooler is a custom piece, correct? Looking forward to the pics, regardless!

Uhhhhhh, what you "need" to do is re-shoe the car with proper wheels that actually fit it (both literally and artistically) - rubbing, and pimpin' problems solved!!! :D :D :D

Ya', I use my car often (quite a bit of "daily driving" when I don't need to carry anything big - no, not talking about Paul's ass or ego!!!) and for me, it is miserable to drive without a/c. I've done upgrades over the years (such as a Zims fender condenser) - but now need to replace both the evaporator and the evap blower, and am experimenting with mods to the blower (replacing with a more powerful one from a Chevy truck) and ducting, and have plans for major "custom" changes down the road (eliminate tail condenser and nose condenser - add additional condensers in the wheel wells, all new custom hoses, etc). I'll keep your stuff in mind (seems like it will sell quick, though).

Haha!!!

The problem is the front tires - 255's that are Toyo Proxes R888's. They are quite a bit wider than a normal 255 and hit.

My other wheels have 255's, but they are Michelin Pilot PS2's and I didn't have any clearance problems.

Either way, I will get it squared away.

Yep - my intercooler is a custom dude. I have the up-pipe setup for a 2.5" outlet on the compressor, but I haven't installed my new turbo yet. So, my setup would be a short-term thing to get the intercooler on the car so we can get moved.

Chris.

Isn't it surprising that you can install a suspension that is so much stiffer than original -- and yet the car drives so much better?

Car looks great, Chris!

Completely agree. I did the same on my Carrera 3.0 inspite of big TB, mono balls etc., it is so smooth compared to my 930 which still has noisy poly-type bushings.

Hams930T 06-19-2014 11:54 AM

Alright!! I finished up my oil cooler fan install so I manage temps a little better in the Texas heat.

I dropped it off at my local shop who does the alignments for me. They finished ride height and corner balance. Front height was around 24.5" and the rear is set around 25". Front was set to -1 degree, the rear was set to -2.5 degrees. 1/6th of toe front and rear to start and we'll see how I like it.

With the work I've done - the car officially weighed in at 2,734 pounds with a half tank of fuel.

Yea Hams price is actually a banging deal. I would've jumped on it but Charlie is somewhat local to me and I really wanted to start my ac install/upgrade this weekend. I too can't stand sweating my arse off in any car, plus the fumes from the trucks annoy the dung out of me...windows up,ac on and tunes pumping is my way of cruising;-)

[QUOTE=Hams930T;8055375]LOL!!!

In all seriousness - I need to keep my hands nice looking for my day job, so the gloves help with that. I don't really like wearing the thick work gloves; they just get in the way too much.

I'm going to get some good mileage out of this one, Chris!

Love the updates. I only did basic stuff with Fang... I'm going to need to buy that car back if prices come back down to sane levels.

DOH!
I mean, DAMMIT!
Hate it when that happens.
Fortunately, the paintless dent repair guys are mobile, and some do remarkable work.
Have a mobile airbrush guy touch it up, like the dealerships use, and you'll never know it happened.

The paint cracked at the seam line. I'm concerned about that.... I was thinking PDR at first until I saw the cracked paint.

I sold my EFI/Turbo hotrod at the start of the year. Bought a watercooled Gemballa. Over said car and am going back to another oil cooled car. I'm a boost junky so will be either doing another EFI/Turbo build or looking for a 930 and just doing the EFI bit lol.

speednme1 06-30-2014 04:30 AM

Currently doing the Griffiths AC upgrade. Tedious for a novice like myself..:D

speednme1 07-16-2014 07:49 AM

Being the mod junkie that I've become(truth is, this is probably the reason I passed on a pure stock car when I was shopping..my subconscious...lol)
I added a Motec C125 to monitor my afr plus a bunch of other that normally can only be seen with a laptop. Need to go visit my peoples at Dawe's for the final connection...also installed my Ruf shifter and Rennline pedals.

The Macintosh looks sweet. I'm sure it sounds nice too. I've done a lot of auto AC work and mods on my car so if you have any questions maybe I can help.
