Sheesh. Maybe I should read a little more closely! He said he went to Dawes to dial it in didn't he?!!

I have EFI plans (or dreams, really). Have to "commence robbery proper" to pay for it though. Lemme at least put my intercooler on. ;-)

Any details on the air filter setup in your pic? Not the typical K&amp;N sitting on top of the air meter... What sort of elbow are you using to get a more cylindrical filter on there?</div>
</div>Ken, John is on efi...no more air meter....about time you get on the bus too...lol

Brad looking good. How much time did it take to get the case looking like that?

turbobrat930 05-22-2014 09:36 AM

Thanks guys!!!! About 120 or so hours on the case alone... Had a couple of towels spead out on a table in the living room.. watching F1 while polishing... I have had my share of blisters on my hands..LOL

Ken911 05-22-2014 09:39 AM

lol did you coat it with anything so it stays that way?

Nah... I figured that anything I would or could put on it would yellow over time and heat cycles.... So the only part of the engine you will see once its together would be the bottom.... I have a full lift in the shop... So, I will just spend a few minutes polishing it during an oil change... The hard part was getting it that smooth. It should not be that big of a deal to keep it that way.

citrus 05-22-2014 10:56 PM

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words not a lot of time for me to drive it noticed the next day when motor is cold it has difficulty with its idle . I'm hopefully that with my computer and being able to log into m48 it can be solved over phone (maybe). Hey Paul yes I recognize that snail it definitely has a big kick when it comes on boost ! My entire exhaust is B and B with welded on tips al la jerry woods I'm not sure about the k and n air filter elbow set up but would be happy to take pictures. Gsxrken.

I'm pretty sure if someone made those CF fans to fit a stock motor they wouldn't be able to keep them in stock that would look awesome and wouldn't have all the corrosion, cracking issues the stock ones have plus less rotating mass.

TurboKraft 05-23-2014 01:00 PM

Researched that, but the people we've found that are capable of doing a good job -- making it look really good, weave lay correctly, smooth finish, strong -- costs more than I think people are willing to spend.

Ken911 05-23-2014 03:50 PM

that sucks so it would be more than 300.00 range then? too bad.
