Factory Fader 83 930

This is a first that I've seen. Looks to be a factory fader in the console of this VERY nice 83 930.

It controls the balance between the front and rear speakers. New radios have it on the faceplate. It looks kinda funny all by itself down on the console but sometimes thats how they did it back then. Possibly a Mercedes part originally that Porsche used.

Ahh thats what it does lol,
ive got one too on my Euro 77
I think Centre console were a option as it is listed in my option codes but for some others it was standard im ont sure, im actually waiting on some information from the Factory regarding all the little not so known additions and options and explanations as to how a 1977 car can have both a hand throttle and Intercooler, --(mixing 3 years apart there) ill post it here,

Hand throttle, yes. Intercooler, no. The intercooler was added later. You must have a tea tray as the ic doesn't fit under the whale tail.

IC;s were first added to a few cars at the very end of 1977 which i found surprising,

I dont think i have Tea Tray though i think its more the whale tail, id prefer a Tea Tray though i think they look more streamlined

On my '86 as well. Perhaps it's more noticeable in that example because it isn't surrounded by the flashers, A/C controls, etc.

I believe Mark Haab discusses them in his 930 authenticity book. My copy is a bit out of reach for the foreseeable future.
