Tec3r tune files?
Anybody want to post their engine spec and Tec3r tuning files? Would be nice to have a library to simplify setup and tuning with a good set of baselines.

Wasn't there a Tec3R for sale in the Pelican Used Parts Forum? Maybe the seller has some baseline files for you?

Well you got a better chance to get one here then on the Electromotive forum...
I'm running TecGT for a NA. Closest tuner that sell this system is 6 hours away, so its a slow process to for self tuning.

I think Justin "Dr. J" (juicersr screen name, One of the DZug guys) was running Electromotive Tec EFI on his 934 tribute, don't know if that's still the case. A more extreme build than you've got, but maybe something to start with?

There are several issues at play here. I understand that you are not looking for an all out performance tune, but a base tune. Most EFI companies could provide you with a base map to get it started. The problem is that there are SO many variables that come into play, that you would not be able to just plug in someone else's tune, and then jump on the track.
Some other issues... If the person who is posting said files has a fuel pressure thats 5psi more, you will be way off on fueling. If they have a different cam profile, different ignition system (CDI, direct spark, wasted spark, etc) then the ignition maps will be off. If they are running a stepper motor versus a solenoid for an ISC (Idle speed controller), then your idle circuit numbers will be completely wrong. Granted, it would not be too difficult to fix said issues, but it still will not get the engine running enough to get into the boost without risking very expensive damage.... And the last point... I know that some of these guys have spend thousands of dollars on a professional and dyno time to get their efi system dialed in. Giving up those files for free, would be an issue for some. I am not trying to be a butthead with this post, as if I had a Tec-3r system, I would GLADLY share my files. After all, I feel like we are a bunch of brothers here in the turbo forum. I am running into the same issues here... I am running a Link G4 extreme efi system, and NO one around (and I mean No one) is running this system on a turbo P-car. I wish to heck that I had a bunch of free resources to turn to as well. (I was given a set of run files for a Link system, and that enigne is almost identical to mine. Since I have about double the fuel system on my car, that the other car had, I am running into all sorts of tuning issues.... so much so, I am thinking about starting from scratch) Good luck!!! And If I can be of any help, PM me and We can chat!!!

I'd just expected that there would be more camaraderie - there certainly is in the megasquirt community. With open source culture, I guess that is to be expected.

The Electromotive Forum is nothing to compare to PP. Even though they have a sub forum for Map, after 2 years there is 12 post with only a few offers. After I post how disappointed I was by the lack of Bin Files, I got this answer that still ring true: Good luck getting anyone to offer up that kind of info. Whenever I get it tune professionally I'll be happy to share my Map as "use at your own risk". I'm on their forum and there is weeks that go by without any post.

I think what has happened is that Electromotive users have moved on. There certainly are a lot of ECU's/Software options out there and Electromotive hasn't kept up. There's a lot of Electromotive systems out there, but a lot have changed hands. So getting support for these systems becomes somewhat of a nightmare.

Took me a little longer than I thought to extract the .bin file. ....new computer so I had to find a new driver for the Belkin serial interface.
Anyway, this .bin file is for a 3.2 Carrera based conversion into a 3.4 twin plug single turbo. You can get more details of the motor rebuild and my current project here: Evolution of a Carrera RST Here is the .bin file: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I run Cams ground to SC specs, can't remember the fuel pressure (probably in the 65 psi range) and only .6 bar boost, never more to save motor and tires. I should add that this motor was tuned on the open road and at high speed at Mosport using a PLX wide band AFR gauge. Motor is docile in traffic, doesn't spit or f*rt, yields excellent gas mileage in normal driving and if I come out of corner 5b properly at Mosport and all the stars align, I hit 265 kph (that's 165 mph) at the end of the uphill back straight-I am basicy red lining at this point. Hope that this may help somebody. Cheers, Johan

Super helpful, and not to sound ungrateful, but... The a link to the actual .bin (OneDrive, dropbox) file as opposed to an iOS screen grab would be even more helpful
![]() And to reiterate...THANK YOU!!!

Kenik,
Your computer knowledge is obviously better than mine. PM me with your email address and I'll send you the .bin file. Johan

I see you run knock control. Very cool. You're the second person I've ever seen do this. I'll be #3. I tapped the bottom of my heads to mount a 993 knock bridge. Curious if you did the same.
^ will do. ![]() ![]()
