Trans sensor ID help

Unfortunately the wires for this got hooked up on the axel of the way out and it was too late when I noticed.
I can't find any info on it or find it for sale anywhere.
What is it for?

Interesting thing is that the wires appear to not even have been connected anyway.

I can easily solder the wire back into the connected but I don't know which wire connects to which side of the connector.

Car in questions is an 85 930

Will post pic shortly.

I'm just going to try and solder it and hope for the best. I dont think the wires were even connected before. There looks like there was supposed to be a connector there and its def not on the floor under the car.

Unless someone tell you you back up light does not work, you would not know it.

^^^ or, if you try to back up in the dark...

How often do you guys check into things like that - walk around the car... (i.e. headlights, turn signals, backup light, horn, tire pressure, look under the car before a spirited ride being sure there is nothing hanging down...)?

I check normal things frequently.
But I honestly dont care at all about the reverse lights so I have never taken the time to check.
