Prices have a wide range for used parts, I've seen anywhere from $250-$1000 for a set of exchangers with J-pipe. Yours look in nice shape. Best if you can find someone restoring a '78 Euro or upgrading a '78/9 USA 930.

Robby, what do you plan to use instead; electrical conduit pipe cut with a hack saw and glued together with JB Weld?!?!
![]() And why does it pain you, seeing as you've already sold off, or traded, many of the original components?!?! ![]() |

To start dismantling a '77 car for money, is like peeing in your pants to feel warm.
Think for every 1000 dollars you receive, you give 5000 dollars out. While saying this, must admit I too have wanted to buy bits off Robbys car. A few correct bits missing is a long search to later put right. Piece and respect ![]()

C'mon, Man, take it easy on the guy. Referring to JB Weld as (the insinuation seemed to be "regular old") glue is just plain mean.

Well if it goes off one 930 to go on another what is the harm except to the person who is then without that said part?
Ok for many of you to just go to out and buy a part if needed i wish i could do that too but i cant so i look at ways to get it on the road Im on th elok out for window door frames atm and at around $450 each delivered i need to look at ways of acquiring them because its a lot easier to get a car on the road with aftermarket cheaper headers than to get it on the road without windows and a friggin Roof if you get my drift

Hey Robby, sorry to hear you have to sell parts. You may want to think of other ways to make money with your car. If it runs, advertise to give rides out for a set price. Sunday Drive $200, 10 minutes of boost $500 etc. can't be too many 930s in your area. Good luck.

It seems to me the net gain is going to be negligible at best. I'm no expert but I can't see you getting much more than $1,000 for your stock exhaust. That's on the low end of what you'll pay for a decent set of used after market headers before shipping to Australia.
Does your car still have the snorkel headlight washers ? If so why not sell those. There in high demand and they fetch big bucks. Replace them with the later style and pocket the difference.

I've always seen stock exhaust systems in excellent condition with no puff can paint sprayed on them go for around $400.
Getting rid of them and putting on short tube stainless steel headers will remove a lot of weight from the back of the car and that's a good thing. It will reduce trailing throttle over steer. and... The motor will have less turbo lag, will be more responsive, and make more horsepower too. |

Wasn't there this funny Australian, who used to stick his thumb up a crocodile's butthole to piss them off. He made millions. Just a thought.
Robby is no.1 - always makes one smile to read his posts ![]()
