[QUOTE=RarlyL8;8361523]You know why bone stock collector cars command the highest prices, because they are unmolested and unused. May as well have the wooden engine that came in the prototype Porsche put on display.

The price are going crazy for stock ones even here in Canada also.
For the first times 3-4 ads saying that they are buying 930 or aircooled porsche for good money. There's a 1985 for 6 figures. Just glad I bought in 2012 mine to mod the freaking **** out of it even if I'm too poor right now ![]() |

Criss this is what I did with my car along with removing all of the smog equipment Huge difference in performance. I put all the old parts in boxes in the attic If I ever do decide to sell which I doubt but you never know I will just replace all of the stock parts again

A stock 930 came with more horsepower than the newest stock Cayman (maybe not too much longer) so it's a false premise to say keep it stock OR enjoy it.
and while I enjoy it I keep watching the countdown. . . Heh Heh Heh and Paul, make sure you're polishing it every night. (the car I mean!) ![]() |

I think this is what the engineers originally designed, and its not what was ultimately marketed to the "masses" ![]() ^a real one of these is worth more than a bone stock 930 too.

Modded ones work sooooooo much nicer. And are sooooooo much more fun to drive, I would never go back to stock. I've kept every piece I took off or changed, though. Just in case I don't pass it on to my son...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...personally I love the look of the 934....so raw and purposeful looking....so much character...

Had to chime in....
I am in the camp that someone has to preserve the stock car and keep it in the eyes of the collector/preserver/enthusiast . I drove one of these back in 86 and wanted that experience again. These stock cars have great character in my view, and I enjoy driving/showing my car to folks that appreciate what it represented back in the day. My car is a trailer queen to most , but a time warp to me with just 5k miles in as new condition, most of all its the way I want it. |
