It is DIY-able, that's why we designed it the way we did.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys and I appreciate the few of you posting the vids. It's been so hectic since returning home that I find myself with very little time to get onto the forums.

The 930 is still sitting at my brother's home waiting patiently for me to pick it up. The weather is finally summer-like here so my anticipation is to grab it in the coming weeks and start the process of upgrading the suspension and a few other mods I have in mind.

Your brothers' been out tooling that thing around enjoying the boost! You'll need new tires when you go to pick it up! :p

I like it! Get a cover over the relay box, and get the rotary IAC plumbed to filtered air though. Otherwise a little rain will park your new ride, and you don't want your new motor sucking dirt.

Nice job.

It's always strange to me when a turbo runs without the intercooler...then I remember it's EFI and it all makes sense.

One question: did you pull BOV signal off the throttle body?

Wonder why that spring opened so quickly?
Mine is also stock with gt30r and it keeps closed till .85 bar then opens. I get everything by it seems 2900rpm and that spring looks like it's not doing it's job till 5000rpm.
That turbo should get full boost by 2700-3000rpm on that motor for sure! And then be flat till redline.
I'd bet it can do more boost easily as well.

I believe the GT30R exhaust housing is too small for 3.4L engine. It is a very good fit for a 3.0L. My GTX7130R makes 1.2 bar at 3000 to 3200 rpm. The GTX7130R flows about the same as a GT7630R. He is using a GTX7630R, the compressor flows about the same as GT3583R, but I read some stuff on the internet that people found the 30R turbine housing to small to power the GTX76 compressor.
Once they have EBC setup, I think they will find that exhaust back pressure will push the wastegate further open at high RPM's dropping boost pressure. To keep boost from dropping, I had to add more DC to my wastegate solenoid to offset the increase in back pressure in the 5500 - 6500RPM range in the coarse of EBC tuning.

dap, you have your numbering backwards, like Precision does -- it's Garrett GT3076R, not GT7630R. "30R" is the turbine wheel family, "76" is a 76mm diameter compressor wheel exducer.

Pete's car had a GTX3076R, "biggest" of the GT30R-series compressor wheels. Yes, at this low boost pressure, the theoretical airflow of the billet 11-blade 71mm compressor wheel is comparable to a GT3582R cast 6+6 compressor wheel. Theoretical. Start factoring in exhaust flow and pressure, and it affects the turbo's actual performance.
But it isn't the turbine housing that's the flow restriction -- it's the turbine wheel itself.
