don't want to steal this great thread...
but it looks as if you intake pipe should be closer to the charge air pipe. Philip

You ran the fuel line OUTSIDE of the car?!?

But fuel lines need protection ... I've never seen any manufacturer run a fuel line outside of the car. |

Great project to be followed, I look forward to knowing the continuation!
One thank you for photos, explanations and especially videos! :) |
I ran 6AN hardlines through the tunnel anything larger is an event to put in. I talked to Chris about this and he said that the larger lines (8AN) are almost impossible to run through the tunnel - so they run them where the AC lines are.
Look at most american cars - they run hardlines out side of the car along the frame since forever. Which is not saying much. If you do it very minimal - I think that works fine. |
Although I think hard-lines inside the tunnel is the best solution for safety and longevity, you could argue that having flexible hose outside the tunnel allows it to be regularly inspected for leakage and more easily replaced (compared to flex-lines inside the tunnel, where it's impossible to inspect them thoroughly).

I'm waiting for the back to back dyno results of the two turbos.
Cool series of videos- thanks to Chris at TK for the behind the scenes access. Awesome! |
Thanks!

Nice new build guys! Thanks for setting the example by going EFI and I'm certain you will enjoy the new drive efficiency. All original isn't living with these older cars!
Really enjoyed the vids as well. Mike, that was considerate turning down the death metal music! :) |
The one caution I'm sure Chris went over with you was in regard to the exhaust manifold wastegate tube. The solid welded tube may eventually fracture at the collector with that configuration. The stainless (hopefully 321) expands quite a bit and also with that arrangement it could contribute to some boost creep. A danger worth taking into consideration if you haven't already.
Love the black anodizing! Maybe in a year or so you can follow up with the TurboKraft Billet Intercooler! |
Pete,
I am stoked to see the results and finished product. Been really enjoying the videos. My car is in Chris's trusty hands to work his magic. (struggling sleeping at night with anticipation) Jeff |

Pete hasn't updated the thread in a while, but he did put up two videos on rebuilding the transmission. Pretty good look at the process.
