Have an acquaintance in OR who purchased the x-factory kit and is having one HELL of a time with the problematic schematics, missing parts, cheap chinese components. Anybody else have comments on this kit?

Al and RHD bent over backwards to help, and even sent him a replacement set.. turns out, the owner said he "didn't know" he was supposed to lock the stops on the adjustment arms between each throttle resulting in it never staying in sync and blamed it on the product.

As to where they are machined? Who knows. We are not in AUS and can't comment one way or the other. Have never seen any pics/vids showing their manufacturing facility or capabilities.... We have not finished the install, as the motor is still being built. But I hope not to find any other issues. That said, RHD has been very responisve to us which is great. Cheers

If "Home Garage Guy" is buying a selection of parts and then pimping it as an ITB/ECU kit without explicit directives, excellent wiring specs, and asking his customers to submit changes so he can "improve his own product" sounds like a NO THANK YOU to me.

VintageTreffen, Jeff, etc...The RHD Throttle bodies, purchased directly from RHD in Australia,are basically the throttle bodies in kit form and the assembly instructions are found on the RHD website and consist of a an assembly video and then there is another video that outlines the installation of the assembled ITBS to a 911 engine....the "Home Garage" guy is Rama, the owner of RHD. He is very responsive, if there are questions regarding assembly/install of his product
However, just to clear up some obvious confusion...per the discussion above, the RHD ITB throttle body kit consists of the throttle bodies only, in parts form, ready to be assembled. great product that can be purchased directly from RHD in Australia. The x-faktory kits are integrated systems...consisting of fully assembled RHD Throttle bodies, the ECU, wiring harness(s) Fuel pressure regulator, fuel and vacuum hoses, o2 controller and sensor, TPS, temp sensor, fuse block, terminal block, etc. Basically everything needed for install and tuning , with the exception of termination spade or ring lugs. Documentation consists of an End User's Guide with install and tuning info, manufacturers wiring diagrams and custom wiring diagram specific to the system, ECU manual, Start-up tune file, programs required I.E. as complete as I can make them. Every attempt is made to ensure that this kit is a great price/performance package for the DIY crowd. The ITBs are from Australia (machined in Taiwan), the sensors/components can basically come from anywhere in the world, these days....even the Bosch ignitors are fabbed in China, while their clones are still made in Germany. The true source is often unknown, but should not matter as long as they are good, working parts. While occasionally there are issues....The vast majority of installs have been successful, typically with questions asked, datalogs reviewed, a bit of tuning tips, etc.....and as most people that have worked with me know....I do my best to support the kits I offer and if there are questions related to the product, installation, documentation, they also know how to get in touch with me directly..

We purchased direct from Rama at RHD. There is NO documentation on their site for installing them on a Porsche 911 engine. The link does not work. However, There is plenty of documentation for other installations. When I said "home garage guy" that is how the video looked. Not a pro set up video. Maybe my characterization was not correct, but it was not what I expected. It really does not take long to create set up sheets, we do it for the products we manufacture. We can figure it out, no big deal. However, RHD could really step up the game and provide detailed proper instructions like their competitors do. End of story. I don't care where they are made, as long as they work and are reliable and consistent. As you state it should not matter as long as they are good, working parts. I 100% agree. Yes, Rama is very responsive and easy to get a hold of. No issue there what so ever. My comments are simply to show the room for the product to grow and gain market traction. Once we have them installed and tuned I would be happy to provide feedback and comments as we have used pretty much all of the competition's parts. Cheers

I bought the ITB straight from RHD. I didn't think it was a problem to figure 90% of the assembly without watching the video. The balance made sense once you watched the video. Exotech didn't have any trouble balance them or finishing the linkage off on the motor.

My comments were around the supplied info, which is lacking. As pros in a shop, it really does not matter. But to someone we may sell a kit to, it does matter. It may also matter to people they sell at kit direct to. Remove obsticals to success, pretty simple. Understand, it has zero affect on my business. I like the product, I would like to see it do better in the market place and gain some more market share. If I did not care, I would not bother posting about it..... Anyways, enough about that. Looking forward to getting the engine assembled and on the dyno. Expect good results. Cheers
