dyno results 911SC

We all like pictures and we all like dyno results - what could be better than pictures of a dyno run?

This is from my 1983 911 SC D-stock PCA club racer (I don't race, but the previous owner did). Per class rules, the engine is stock except for the exhaust which is a Jim Buckley design. The WUR is adjusted to run rich across the range, typically low 13 AFR. During the run I determined timing is about 28* at full advance. That probably leaves something on the table, but gets hot here in Texas so I don't push the timing.

The operator made the first pull to 7000 RPM to locate max HP, then lower max RPM for runs 2 and 3. I can't vouch for the dyno, but the operator says he adheres to relevant standards and the runs are temperature compensated. The dyno is at the local road course, so it is probably used for race series that measure power/weight ratios.

Run Torque (ft-lbs) @ RPM RWHP @ RPM
1 187 @ 4020 187 @ 5960
2 188 @ 4160 188 @ 6110
3 187 @ 4030 189 @ 6000

I was pleasantly surprised, especially since this is a small port engine.

Are we still using 15% for driveline loss? If so, then the FWHP is 221 (188/0.85). Bruce Anderson said the SC motors respond well to improved exhaust. The Buckley exhaust has equal length, stepped headers, pyramidal (Burns?) collectors and a stinger exit.

Run Torque (ft-lbs) @ RPM Rear Wheel HP @ RPM
1 187 @ 4020 187 @ 5960
2 188 @ 4160 188 @ 6110
3 187 @ 4030 189 @ 6000

Very close. Stock internals? What kind of exhaust do you have?
