Ken: In reply to your question regarding Motor Meister. I wish I had read a message like this before I decided to send my engine to Motor Meister. My experience has been a disaster. If you, or anyone else reading this, has any questions please call me. Vance Smith 360-665-4761

Living in Canada, I have never had anything to do with them. Just curious as to how they could still be in business after all the bad press they get!! Wouldn"t word of mouth, forums such as this, lawsuits etc have done them in by now?

Al: Maybe they are better at webers than engines. Maybe they should change there name to Weber Meister. I have spent almost $8,000 and a year in time. And I have an engine that will barely start and run when cold. I'm just interested in getting the word out and saving pca members the agony and expense. Any questions, please call: Vance Smith 360.665.4761

David: Thanks for the info. I have an estimate from a good Porsche mechanic to repair the damage Motor Meister did to the fuel system. The problem I've spent all the money I can afford, and the estimate is approx $2,500. Essentially to replace the fuel system that was working fine when the engine was removed and shipped to Motor Meister.

I think a MM sticky might keep this from coming up every week. Then again, not sure I wanna see that on page one every day.

Venetian........... To answer your question, because it is a good one, MM has the slickest, most consumer-friendly Porsche repair shop website out there. Very alluring.

Please do a search here and read through my story and the stories of others. I'd hate to see anyone else go through the same horroe. This board is the best Porsche resource you will ever find. The collective experience of members is incredible. I'm sure someone here can recommend a good trustwortyhy mechanic and shop in your area. MM makes a great first impression and "says" all the right things. The old adage is true here. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I only wished I'd listened to that piece of advice and had this board as a resource before I got caught up in MM hell, the effects of I'm still dealing with.

Phoenix: We may not be able to recoup our loses with Motor Meister, but if there are enough of us we may be able to petition the editor of Panorama to drop Motor Meister's advertising. Panorama, expressly, does not assume any liability for claims made by their advertisers, but if enough of us complain we might get their attention.

Vance I work in advertising specifically media planning & buying. Unfortunately, for Pano to drop a long term advertiser such as MM, it would take several hundred signatures from Pano subscribers or several documented cases where MM was clearly found at fault. The better approach would be to combine the efforts of 4+ people who MM wronged each having full documentation. We could then collectively bring forward a class action suit with the proper authorities. In the end MM might be willing to cut a deal but I doubt it would be enough to recoup our losses. My engine still isn't right and I'm hoping to save enough to have PP's Henry Schmidt or a well regarded and respected local P-only mechanic build a completelt new motor. Only then will I have purged all the MM demons out of Phoenix. (Of course this will cost me only a bit more than the same nearly 10grand I originally shelled out to MM. VERY tough lesson learned.) Ken - sorry to hijack your thread though this certainly is relevant to your original question.
