intermediate shaft cover stud depth
I have to reinstall my int shaft cover studs. Anyone know the length to leave protruding? I assume this is how its done, not by torque. Also, bluie locktite, right?
Thanks, Brian |

Not having an engine right in front of me to measure, a good rule of thumb is you want a few threads of the stud protruding above the nut when properly torqued with a spring washer.
Dry fit everything and see where it needs to be and adjust accordingly. Use red loctite on engine case studs that you will not be removing later. AFJ

Spring washers or flat washers? The book doesn't specify, but I don't remember M6 sping washers being part of the hardware kit from pelican. Which other studs require spring washers (I used flat for the breather and the temp switch on top of the case).

The nuts are nylocks so either one is okay, but personally I think spring washers are a joke... Never use 'em...
Just checked a 2.4L case at 0.6"
